Michael Schwandt is one of the most dynamic contributors to choreography and stage directing in Los Angeles. His extensive body of work can be seen across the board in television, commercials, corporate industrials, music videos and live special events, while crossing all genres of dance.

Michael helped bring Lady Gaga to the world in 2008 when he convinced NBC to follow his hunch & hire a then unknown Gaga to perform a catchy new song "Just Dance" on the Miss Universe TV special on primetime television. Michael directed & choreographed Lady Gaga's first TV performance in July 2008, seen by over 2 billion people.

Michael's creativity knows no bounds as he has directed aerialists & bungee jumpers at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for Sheryl Crow, conceived a state of the art choreo- graphed lightwire costume for Katy Perry, creatively implemented 60 routines for the TV series Your Chance To Dance, guest judged & choreographed So You Think You Can Dance & America's Next Top Model TV series, stage directed & choreographed the Miss USA & Miss Universe TV specials, choreographed 500+ dancers for various bowl game halftime shows including the Orange Bowl, in addition to working with Kelly Rowland & David Guetta, Flo Rida, Tinie Tempah, The Veronicas, Boys Like Girls, Kevin Rudolph, John Legend & Cirque du Soleil "Viva Elvis."

A graduate of the University of Texas Radio-TV-Film Dept, education is very important to Michael. He continues to give back to the dance community by nurturing and educating aspiring dancers via guest master classes all over the world. He was on faculty at the world-renown EDGE Performing Arts Ctr. in Hollywood for three years and is a guest faculty on the Tremaine Dance Convention and Hollywood Vibe tours where he connects with young dancers across the US, mentoring about realistic expectations in professional dance. Other guest faculty credits include: Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Broadway Dance Center Japan, Sydney Dance Company, Melbourne Ministry of Dance, Western Australian University of Performing Arts, Pineapple Studios London, Harbour Dance Vancouver, MBS Toronto, Dance Academy Zurich and Manhattan Dance Project.
