Cherie Oakley began singing and writing her own songs at age 3. Before the age of 6 Cherie had performed in hundreds of churches all over the country with her family in evangelism, recorded her first record, and had a manager in NYC. She sang country music in various festivals and fairs before performing as a junior vocalist on Star Search at age 10. Cherie began working in musical theater throughout the rest of her childhood and into her teens. Some of her theater credits include performing as Annie in "Annie", Amaryllis in "The Music Man", Pat in "Tomorrow The World", Mary Lennox in "The Secret Garden" (at The Paper Mill Playhouse), the Narrator in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and Zoe in "Just One World" (at Off-Broadway's Musical Theatre Works). Cherie moved to Nashville in 2002 and began developing her skills as a songwriter while she sang demos around town. She began touring as a background vocalist for Carrie Underwood promoting the album "Some Hearts". She then toured for the next 3 years as a background vocalist with the "Redneck Woman" herself, Gretchen Wilson. You can hear Cherie on various records and singles such as Reba McEntire's "All The Women I Am", Gretchen Wilson's "I Got Your Country Right Here", and One Tree Hill's Jana Kramer's new single "Whiskey". In 2011, Cherie celebrated her first #1 hit as a songwriter with "Turn On The Radio", performed by Reba McEntire. She is currently focused on songwriting and developing her solo career as an artist. Cherie will be a contestant on NBC's "The Voice" premiering April 26th.
