She has taught workshops, given demonstrations, and written articles for craft magazines such as Bead Unique and PolymerCAFE. She has also made contributions in two craft books: Adapting Quilt Patterns to Polymer Clay by Sarajane Helm and Judith Skinner, and Donna Katos upcoming book on millefiore canes.

Charlene lives with her husband of 24 years in Peoria, Illinois. They have 6 children, 2 cats, and a tank full of freshwater fish.
