Chain Reaction was formed in the end of 2002 as a band of friends playing together for fun. Two years later, at the moment when the band`s style was maturing, it was joined by Barton who took over the lead singer`s position. In 2006 CR`s new tracks were recorded as the 'id' Promo and met with great reception. Thanks to 'id' Chain Reaction gained huge positive feedback in Poland and played more than fifty gigs around the country but, due to the length of the album, remained unsigned. The band kept on working on their music and in fall of 2007 recorded ten completely new tracks on its first LP album entitled 'Vicious Circle'.
