Greetings. I've taught at 2 high schools in San Francisco.

Those of you who criticize teachers for standing up for our schools by accusing them of selfish motives really don't get what is going on currently in our state in regards to public education. It is not about their salaries and jobs but about protecting quality public education for all kids. Please visit a local school and talk with the teachers about why they are speaking out about the budget cuts before shouting out these kind of accusations. Everyone who believes in democracy should be praising these individuals for exercising their democratic rights to organize and speak out for what they think is of value to our society. Thank you to every teacher who refuses to sit idly by as other groups continue to attack public education for truly selfish and ulterior motives.

I want to feel sympathy for teachers but shame on CA Teachers Association for making my child's Open HoOuse tonight all about budget cuts and politics. Bad move....

I hope you want forget the teachers in Tennessee that are currently being attacked by Republicans in House and Senate Bills to end collective bargaining rights and to take away the Pension Fund trustees elected by the TEA and replace them with "trustees to be appointed by the Speakers of the House and Senate in TN.

Taxing corporations or small businesses will deteriorate CA more and drive jobs away. In addition, UCLA keeps increasing my tuition. I don't think I will see a cut back if Prop 24 is passed.

I am a high school student in California. It is disgusting what they are doing to out school system. I am truly appalled. I cannot go to summer school, or get money for college because my government is so irresponsible and over spends. My generation and future ones will suffer because the California government cannot control their wallets, or spend wisely. Truly disgusting.

why dont the highest paid teachers in the nation QUIT crying for more of our tax dollars?--No child left behind reduced class sizes and there is still a 50% drop out rate in Los Angeles.--News flash...the State is Broke. Education is the biggest chunk of the state budget. Every industry in the nation is seeing layoffs. What makes you greedy people exempt?. Plus...i bet very few of those "pink slips" actually even results in a layoff. Quit whining!!!!!
