I've been a percussionist for a long time and now at 44 I am finally ready for the Bodran. I am having a hard time figuring out how to hold the beater and i was wondering if you could do a lesson for a total beginning including where to hold the hand inside the drum, etc. Thank you for your lessons you are a great teacher.

Very nice, very appropiate! Finally I got to learn how to use the tipper. What I am missing is some hints what to do with the left hand/arm... Pls advise, thank you! and a Very Happy, Succesful New Year!

Michelle, appears to be a combination of the two. Unfortunately, when I tighten my grip it slows down my triplets. Looks like I'd better stick to the 10 minutes a day.

joetherockbuddha Could be due to too loose a grip or not striking the skin with enough attack. I'm not saying to hold it really tightly or to whack it, but experiment with these two and see what happens. Please let me know how you get on.

Michele, what a killer site! I am learning more with every video. Question: When I play triplets my tipper bounces on the first down stroke adding an extra beat. Any suggestions on why this is happening or how to remedy? Thanks
