If more knew the story of Uncle Tom, they wouldn't be so quick to use him as an insult. Uncle Tom was a former slave turned businessman who was quite successful. As a matter of fact, I'll gladly wear the inspirational title if no one else wants to. And also Uncle Tom was a fine Christian man. It is not a racial crime for a black or hispanic to be successful, so why degrade them as if it were?? Aren't the blacks and hispanics and asians,, and everyone else equal? So why should an "Uncle Tom" be drug in the mud for succeeding? It only hurts the ethnic group to do that, and actually segregates the race apart from financial equality.
