I'm 60 years old, and have trained on and off for a number of years - but never seriously. In March 2008, I took a good look at myself. I was completely out of condition. I had a 39.5 inch waist, was totally unfit, and had no muscle tone - a slob lol !! I decided to change my shape and my lifestyle.
Since then, I have come down to a 32 inch waist. This goes to show that regardless of how old you are you can make a big difference if you are prepared to train and use weights. I have also made sure that I only train for a max of 40 minutes per weights session.
You too can be in the best shape of your life if you are prepared to take the first step.

sanjaysinha121 - In all honesty the best exercise is the one you believe will give you the best results. I personally like shoulder press. I think they are great because they are a compound exercise and help your overall training. You should only train the same muscle 2 times a week max. Some people like to only train them once a week. That is up to you. If you train more than 2 times you are not giving the muscle enough to to rest, grow and repair. Baz

sanjaysinha121 - abs maybe but not calfs. You will over train them and they will not grow. I still think no more than 2 times a week. Baz

kick4ur6 - the gainers will not build muscle. Lifting weights will. You can have the whey protein with a fruit in it and it is similar to all the other weight gainers. A weight gainer has more carbs in it then then the other normal protein powders. You need to have more meals with slightly more carbs in it (6Meals a day)Then you need to train really hard. Each muscle trained 2 times a week. Have a go at doing 6 sets of 8-12 reps. Go quite heavy so you are really battling with the last set even to the point of failing on the last few reps. Baz
