PLEASE READ!
Due to new work commitments, I am unable to spend as much time as I would like here to contact everybody and answer questions, comments and requests, so I do apologise if you don't hear from me very often, I will still check in whenever I can and of course upload new things I get from time to time.
I'm so excited by the new era that awaits BIG COUNTRY, to continue and play live to celebrate the music of the best band in the world and to honour Stuart Adamson's amazing musical legacy is extremely satisfying.
The news of a new single and album is something no Big Country fan would have dreamed of, but it's becoming a reality and it's unbelievably exciting! STAY ALIVE!!!!
A BIG thank you to all my subscribers new and old, stay tuned, there's plenty of good stuff to come, especially if the band tour Australia in 2012, you'll see it first here and funnily enough it's looking like it will happen; I'm more confident Big Country will finally get to these shores than ever!

A bit about me and my love for BC:
Born and live in Melbourne, Australia, 41 years old and a Big Country fan since 1983.
Big Country was my musical awakening. When I heard 'In A Big Country' for the first time on the radio, I could barely believe what I was hearing. I was completely unaware until that moment, and I remember it as if it were yesterday, that some kinds of sounds and emotions put forth in song could affect someone like it did me. I was 13 at the time and up until that moment had never heard a more glorious, inspirational uplifting sound, and it went directly to my heart and stayed there. At the time I didn't know who this band was or anything about them, but it sure as hell made me take interest! Stuart's voice was amazing, his warmth and vocal style was unlike anything I had heard before, just so full of passion. The fact he was changing notes two or even three times while singing just one word was something I have never forgotten, and it was this fact that actually made me think, "who IS this?"
Big Country's twin guitar guitar sound was so original, just unbelievable. I remember listening intently to the radio DJ to find out more about this unique band! Once I found out, I started buying anything and everything of Big Country's that I could find! Cassettes, vinyl, magazines (with even just their name in it)
Everything about Big Country fascinated me, I loved their music and just as importantly felt a deep connection with them and knew that they were something special. I think I was right!

The more I learned about Big Country, the more their music spoke to me. I would listen to their songs over and over (still do!), read interviews and reviews and it would leave me feeling vindicated that I had indeed found the best rock group on the planet. They were just 4 amazingly talented guys making music like I'd never heard before. (or since) It is well documented that they always made music the way they wanted to make it, doing it the way they believed it should be made, and because of this they sacrificed some commercial success. They didn't set out to be rock stars, just to make music with honesty, integrity and passion.
I have stuck by Big Country through thick and thin, defended their honor to idiots and hordes of ignorami, through the good times and the hard times and never lost faith in my heroes for a minute. Every album they made was different from the last, but always unique and always with a story to tell. Theirs was a musical journey I was blessed to go along for the ride with. Unfortunately I never got to see Stuart Adamson lead them on stage, but was lucky enough to see Big Country (and personally meet Bruce, Tony and Mark) on their 25th anniversary tour in Glasgow and Aberdeen in 2007, an experience I'll never forget.
This YouTube channel is dedicated to the memory of Stuart Adamson. A man I never got to meet but someone who has been and will always be my hero. RIP and may his music live on forever.

For interest's sake, these are all of the Australian chart positions attained by Big Country. Not flattering by any means (after The Crossing). Had Big Country toured here, it may have been a different story...
