About Me:

Attention, Funimation has been stealing other peoples' work deliberately and maliciously, the following was posted on their channel but they deleted it because it exposed them for the thieves that they are:

Funimation's channel:
"I see there are some misconceptions going on here, I will help clarify them.
Its true that Funimation own the rights to the first 2 sagas of DBZ which were dubbed by Ocean, but they were working with Saban for that. After Saban left, Funimation decided they couldnt afford the Ocean Group's services and opted to use local people's voice work, those who they felt imitated the Ocean Group the closest. Most of Funi's new voice actors had no previous experience or qualifications which is why they never matched Ocean's awesome voice work.

Because of DBZ's huge succes in Great Britain and Europe, an EU company decided to purchase the rights to DBZ to capitalise on its popularity and produce a new English dub for the European market. AB Groupe were called in to distribute the new dub and Ocean Group of Canada were hired for the dubbing to ensure the new English dub sounds great for the fans.

Some of Ocean's VAs worked with Funimation for the scripting so they decided to collaborate, which is why the Ocean and Funi dubs used the same footage and similar scripts.

Ocean's DBZ was an absolutely huge hit wherever it was aired and the licensors decided to continue dubbing it for the entire series.

However, The Ocean dub is owned by the EU company and NOT Funimation. Towards the end of DBZ Ocean stopped using the same footage as Funi, they got footage from France by AB Groupe. AB Groupe also provided the film for Ocean/Blue Water's Dragonball and Dragonball GT. As for Blue Water's DB and DBGT, they have absolutely nothing to do with funimation, the scripts are close to the Japanese and completely different from Funimation's. Original Japanese music and Japanese sound effects are kept intact, making Ocean's dubs the best English dubs ever made.

Recently, Funimation have incorrectly been assuming rights to the Ocean dub and coerced youtube remove it, youtube dont know the ins and outs of the different English DBZ dubs so complied. Whether that is negligence or
deliberate maliciousness by funimation, they have no right to ask to remove
other people's work, that is another form of stealing. I request funimation to cease claiming rights to the Ocean dub post Trunks saga immediately, or this will escalate.

Do not remove my comments because i did not insult your dub, just clarified the situation for others.

I hope I have made clear that the Ocean dub from Trunks-Kid Buu sagas is a direct competitor of funimation. Canada's YTV decided to purchase the European/Ocean dub for airing, much to the dismay of funimation, who subsequently had a spat with YTV.

YTV switched for 2 reasons: 1. They recognised The Ocean dub's superior quality over Funimation's. 2. They were tired of being treated as second class clients by funimation.

The UK had Ocean and Blue Water for all of DB and DBGT and all of DBZ after the Trunks sagas. However, for a brief spell, the funimation dub of the fusion saga aired in UK, but it got low ratings and many people complained, so the broadcasters purchased the same episodes from the Fusion saga by Ocean and ceased showing funimation immediately, never showing it again thereafter.

Theres many more evidence to prove the Ocean dub is owned by the EU company, so i reiterate, funimation do not steal the EU company's dub, if your employees have no idea on the differences, educate them.

By all means have your Texas dub removed, its your right, but do not ask to remove the Ocean dub because you dont own it. Fooling others to believe you own something you dont, expecially a competitor, is called dirty tricks, dont do it again."
