I love to invent cool products out of everything around the house. Go to my blog at: http://afleming3.wordpress.com This blog will show you cool products that combine technology and art. I make products that are made using everyday objects that you would find around your house. I started to make a portable BBQ grill out of an Altoids box and it is now featured in the The Best of Instructables Volume 1″ by the makers of MAKE magazine and OReily. This little grill is featured in lots of sites such as youtube and instructables. I will still make more products. When I make a product, I will usually have photos in my photo gallery on this site and instructions (PDF) for you to download for free. I might do giveaways of some of my products that I make. Unlike lots of people, (not to be rude or anything) when I make a DIY product, I make the product so it looks extremely clean and modern and at the same time, I also make sure that my products work. It was summer of 2008, and I did not have a BBQ grill, but I did have bunch of Altoids boxes laying around. I thought to my self I need to find a way to put these Altoids into good use. How about I make a portable pocket BBQ grill. I had to keep finding ways to make this grill by trial and error. I kepd drawing designs and diagrams until I found a solution. I figured out how the grill could be made. I took a coat hanger and cut the hook of of it then bend the hanger with the two pliers so it should look like the image to your right. Then I tried to make the grill act like a spring so when you put the grill in place in the Altoids box, the grill will not come out unless you squeeze the two ends of the grill together. The hardest part was that I had to make sure that the coat hanger would fit snugly into the Altids box without accidentally popping out on it own. To use the grill, just open the lid and take out the hanger grill. If you notice anything about the grill, you will see dice welded onto it. The dice will be branded onto your food whether it is vegetables, meat, kebabs, or whatever it is that you are cooking on. If you do not like having the dice on your grill, you could always make or buy a grill without dice on it. When the grill is removed I usually take a cube of charcoal and crumble it in the Altoids box.I had to make sure not to make a mess when putting the charcoal in. Remember that charcoal can be extremely messy and it will get all over the place if you are not careful or paying any attention on what you are doing. The frw final steps I would do before getting started is to put the grill back on, close the lid, then pour a very tiny amount of lighter fluid in and light it up. You can also use alternative fuels if you wish. Finally, all I have to do is light up the grill and enjoy grilling on the new eBqBBQ GRILL.Wouldnt it be great if you imagined your boss coming in and started to say, hey, i smell smoke then you say, Oh do not worry about it, its just me grilling a six inch juicy steak in my office! Finally, for those of you who know me, you know that I am just fascinated by creating and inventing amazing things using recycled materials laying around in your house. Except this tiny BBQ grill takes the cake to a whole new level. This tiny little BBQ that you can use to cook up your breakfast sausage features:

-Built in Striker
-Removable Grill
-Utensil Holder
-Equipment Holder

As a final note to all of you makers around the world, remember to let the BBQ grill cool off before you put it back into your pocket or else you will feel a nasty burn in your pants. (less)
