Broken Social Scene - Texico Bitches - San Francisco, Live, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival Saturday 10-1-11, 1st row, at Golden Gate Park. Every year it seems to get less and less 'strictly bluegrass', as you can see... :P
Other Tidbits:
Before performing 'Sweetest Kill', Kevin Drew introduced his parents to the audience, who were sitting in the VIP section to the left.
Once again, the weather forecast was partly cloudy and mid-60s, and once again it turned out to be perfectly sunny and in the mid-70s. :P
For some reason, this audience went beach ball crazy and throughout the performance there were always ~7 balls bouncing around the front row area.
Setlist: 1. Cause = Time 2. Texico Bitches 3. 7/4 (Shoreline) 4. Water in Hell 5. Fire Eye'd Boy 6. World Sick 7. Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl 8. Sweetest Kill 9. Shampoo Suicide 10. Ibi Dreams Of Pavement (A Better Day) 11. Pitter Patter Goes My Heart 12. Meet Me In The Basement

Reel Big Fish - Thank You for Not Moshing / In the Pit - Santa Cruz, Live 1st row, 12-18-11, The Catalyst.
Other Tidbits:
I caught the setlist at the end of the show, which you can actually see at the ~5:00 mark of the 'Take On Me' finale. My neighbors found it to be a funny coincidence that I got it considering I spent several minutes before the show trying to photograph the setlist on stage unsuccessfully... that iPhone just couldn't get the focus right :P
Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto just played the SF Bay Area in July. Last time I stood on the left side of the stage, closer to SM's Tomas Kalnoky, so this time I figured I'd stand on the right, closer to RBF's Aaron Barrett. Sounded like a good plan, but unfortunately there was a big spotlight shining right where I was standing the whole concert.
My neighbor on the rail was quite nice and offered me to switch places with her, but the light had an area effect, so moving 2 places closer to the center wouldn't have made a difference. I guess next time I'll bring sunglasses. :P
Very fun crowd with a lot of moshing throughout the night... In fact, the fans even moshed to Rodeo Ruby Love's cover of the 80s song 'Holiday Road'. The band actually started cracking up to the sight of it mid-song while singing "I can't believe you're moshing to Holiday Rooooooad".
Setlist: 1. Everything Sucks 2. I Want Your Girlfriend To Be My Girlfriend Too 3. Good Thing 4. Your Guts (I Hate 'Em) 5. Trendy 6. Monkey Man (Toots & The Maytals cover) 7. Join The Club 8. Slow Down 9. She Has A Girlfriend Now 10. The Kids Don't Like It 11. In The Pit 12. Ban The Tube Top 13. Snoop Dogg, Baby 14. 241 15. Brown Eyed Girl (Van Morrison cover) 16. The Set Up (You Need This) 17. Say Ten 18. Where Have You Been? 19. Beer 20. S.R. 21. Another F.U. Song 22. Sell Out 23. Take On Me
Lineup: Reel Big Fish Streetlight Manifesto Lionize Rodeo Ruby Love

Mike Doughty - 27 Jennifers - San Francisco, Live, Sun. 11-6-11, The Independent, 1st row. M.Doughty: "San Francisco has been very nice to us for a very long time. I'm very appreciative." I got the setlist and after the show, M.Doughty signed it and took a picture with me. This was the 2nd night of a double-set in SF.
Other Tidbits:
The doors opened at 7:30pm, and for ~30 minutes, Mike Doughty and his Band Fantastic performed jam sessions/warmups while all wearing long fake beards. Moon Hooch came on at ~8:30 and told several funny stories, one of which was how they came to join Mike Doughty on tour. Basically, they said Mike randomly discovered them while they were playing in NYC and then asked them to do a countrywide tour. They said 'Sure!' Other stories included playing an instrument they bought off of eBay which was supposed play notes so low that it can call Blue Whales, and how one of their songs became popular in Australia because its title was changed from the dark-sounding 'Undeveloped Embryo' to the more happier-sounding 'Smiling Sun'.
Mike commented on the new CD he was vending, he remarked: "I hope that you will purchase it. However, if you do have the bucks, the dosh, the lira, the simoleans, the cheese if you will... there are many, many places on the internet which you can steal... Yes and Also Yes."
"...It is my sincere hope tonight that if you don't purchase Yes and Also Yes, that you go home and steal it! That weird-looking thing out front that looks like a cross between a submarine and a RV eats up a lot of gas." :P
After the show, 'Scrap' Livingston and 'Handsome Dan' Chen enjoyed a couple of beers with the fans. For some reason, Dan's nickname has changed from 'Handsome Dan' to 'Cashmere Dan', the name Doughty now refers to him in the introductions. After the show, Mike signed autographs for the fans, except for one which he politely declined.. It was an old Soul Coughing poster from the Fillmore in SF from August 1997.
Once again, M.Doughty invited requests, and long-time fans, almost as if it was a tradition, called out for 'Fire Truck', Medley, and 'It's Raining Men', lol. And once again, none were performed.
Setlist: 1. (I Keep On) Rising Up 2. 27 Jennifers 3. Tremendous Brunettes 4. Strike the Motion 5. Rational Man 6. American Car 7. Into the Un 8. Down on the River by the Sugar Plant 9. Lorna Zauberberg 10. Day By Day By 11. Na Na Nothing 12. Russell 13. Busting Up a Starbucks 14. Vegetable 15. I Just Want the Girl in the Blue Dress to Keep on Dancing 16. Ossining 17. Looking at the World From the Bottom of a Well
Encore: 18. I Hear the Bells 19. Put It Down 20. Pleasure on Credit
