This one-hour webinar will teach the basic skills and tools needed to manage and analyze program data, with a special emphasis on analyzing program outcome data. Participants do not need any special skills; no special software or math skills needed!
You will learn about: organizing data into a spreadsheet format, how to perform basic quality assurance with your data, simple mathematical functions for data analysis, how to create new evaluation questions out of your data, and how to interpret data including attention to the context of the data.
By the end of this webinar, participants will: * Understand the importance of checking data before it is analyzed * Understand how to organize data into a spreadsheet * Be able to use three methods to analyze data (frequencies, centers, & sub-group comparisons) * Feel more confident about interpreting data * Identify steps to improve their current data analysis

This one-hour webinar provides an introduction to the theoretical basis and practical application of participatory evaluation methods. You will learn about: how popular education informed the development of participatory evaluation, the difference between convention, participatory, and empowerment evaluation methods, and the core principles of participatory methods (interactive, integrated, empowerment oriented). The webinar will focus on using participatory methods to measure knowledge, skill and attitudes. The participatory methods that will be covered in this webinar include card sorting, attitude thermometers, labels, stickers and dots, cooperative interviewing, mapping, observations and skill demonstrations.
By the end of this webinar, participants will:
* Be familiar with the theoretical background behind participatory methods * Be able to identify strengths and limitations of using participatory methods * Be able to identify possible participatory methods for each of three different types of measurements * Have confidence to select appropriate participatory methods for their own program

You will learn about: developing survey objectives, the pros and cons of different types of surveys (mail, phone, in person, and internet), the seven types of questions and when to use them, the evidence around the impact of question ordering, and how to avoid common problem questions.

This one-hour webinar will cover a variety of types of pre- and post-tests for measuring program outcomes, including written surveys/questionnaires as well as participatory methods. You will learn about: ways to increase the validity of your pre and post measures, how to use your program objectives to develop good survey questions, tips for effective question ordering, and the use of retrospective pre/post-tests. In addition, this webinar will provide an introduction to participatory methods such as card-sorting, temperature gauges, stickers and labels, and skill demonstrations which can be used instead of surveys to measure program outcomes.
By the end of this webinar, participants will:
* Understand what pre/post tests are, and how they are useful * Understand the limitations of pre/post tests * Be able to form strong questions for pre/post-tests based on program-specific objectives * Be able to identify several alternatives to questionnaires * Feel confident designing a pre/post test
