The Prophet Mohammed was not a god or did he claim to be. He was really a very simple person who spoke to his world to call mankind enslaved by idolatry to the Message of the One God. Expecting peace, he was the object of persecution by the Arab pagans, much as Dr. Jasser is today. It , being only the 7th Century and he being only a man, he advocated defensive strikes against the pagans to protect his Believers. Whether this was wise or not, it was much different than anything believed or taught in "Islamism" today. His object was always only to defend his Believers who wanted to be left alone in peace. It was not world domination by war. He opposed any conversion by war or force. The Prophet would be apologetical of what is being done in his name. No physical harm was ever the object of his calling! He was repelled by such and sought PEACE. His call and message was One God and obedience to Him.

Regardless of what is written in New York Times, "The Third Jihad" should be read by every Muslim and non-Muslim. It is in no way "hate material" but information that is greatly needed. All should be take warning that this theocracy combined with religion not only enslaves the Muslim world but wishes to enslave all people. Many are sincere among them but never-the-less misled. Their leaders have led them into the way of sin and death far from the original teaching of the Prophet.

Good luck, Dr. Jasser. I hope you are successful in reforming Islamic society and separating Mosque and State, as Christians were successful in separating Church and State. I agree with you that political Islam, not the religion of Islam, is the problem and that good Muslims like yourself are the only ones who can win the ideological fight against radical Islam.

I'm surprised that I haven't heard of you or your organization before. I think you need to get better coverage. Your organization should also consider trying to get editorials published in Arabic newspapers (if you aren't already).

It is unfortunate for a person to be so sure and also so wrong. What about verse before it? "On that day the Merciful will truly reign supreme. A day of woe it shall be to the unbelievers." Or the next one, "As for the heirs of Paradise, they shall lodge in a more auspicious dwelling on that day, and in a cooler resting place. On that day the sky with all its clouds shall be rent asunder and the angels sent down in their ranks." Looks to me like who goes where is left to a higher judge than you!
