Once Upon a Time is one of my new favorite shows of the season. It has a good ensemble cast, interesting story, and lots of focus on characters and their developments. The score, composed by Mark Isham, is also one of the things I really enjoy about the show.
The Snow White and Prince Charming theme is simple, yet powerful. With just a few main notes it conveys the romantic relationship between the two characters very well. It has a slight fairy-tale magical vibe when you hear it, which is perfect for a theme fitting these two characters. It always played for brief moments in the episodes and I would wish it'd keep going sometimes. I wanted to start the video with a brief playing of the end credits music, at least i think that's where it's from, then transition into snow and james' theme. I tried to figure out the main melody by ear, and once I got that down, I just played around with doing different variations of the theme. hopefully i got it down well enough XD
For a reference I used the Once Upon a Time Suite that was briefly offered for free download on the abc site. It's down now, but you could prolly find it on youtube, and it basically is a medley of different themes used in the show, most of it directly from the first few minutes of the pilot.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Yes I know, it's been a while since my last vid XD. After my last video, I got super busy with both school and work so I didn't have as much time for my keyboard. I felt bad neglecting it and promised I would get something down once the break started, and that was my plan! It just took a while after my break started cause I was doing other stuff like hanging with my cousins, friends, christmas, etc. My cousin really liked the 98 Degrees video I made for her and her now husband and actually asked me to play it at their wedding reception, which I did. I made a recording of that but i dunno if I'll put the video up for that tho..
Anyways, I always liked the Hans Zimmer score for The Lion King. It felt very emotional and powerful, to the point where I found the actual score more memorable than the songs themselves. The songs were still good, but I just loved the score a lot more. This piece is my favorite one in the movie, because it starts out all somber, then it switches to more hopeful, then finally very joyous at the end. It expressed a lot of what i was feeling during the last few weeks of the semester cause I was all ":(" while doing the final projects and hw, and studying for the final, taking the final, then getting the grade weeks later and going "BAM! take that RF Electronic Circuits! XD"
Of course the new semester will begin soon and the whole process will prolly repeat itself over...lol XD
But anyways, getting back to topic, this arrangement is heavily inspired by Kyle Landry's version of the song. Since there was only a basic sheet for it and not the super-awesome version he most likely made up on the spot, I did what I can. A lot of parts are very similar to his version but prolly not exact to how he did it, but I liked how it came out either way.
Enjoy. Hopefully the next video won't take as long :D

I wanted to make my own arrangement for this song, and at first I wasn't sure if i wanted to cut the song down a bit, like take out one verse or something, but then figured just go for it. I didn't want to repeat too many things so whenever the song would go back to the chorus, or the second verse, i wanted to do something different so that it'd stay interesting and not too redundant.
My Everything was written by Arnthor Birgisson, Anders Sven Bagge, Nick Lachey, and Drew Lachey. No sheet music for my cover, although I used some sheet music I got from musicnotes to help with the different key changes, but changed it up quite a bit, especially in the left hand.
I also played around with the reverb in audacity with this vid to see how it'd sound, now it sounds more like it's in a small concert hall. Tell me if you guys like that or not.
