SEIU 32BJ is the largest property service workers union in the country, representing more than 120,000 cleaners, security officers, doormen, porters, maintenance workers, bus drivers, window cleaners and food service workers in eight states and Washington, DC.
32BJ members work in residential apartment buildings, commercial offices, airports, university and college campuses, theaters, arenas and stadiums. Worksites include landmarks such as the Empire State Building, Yankee Stadium and Citifield, the Connecticut State Capitol, Philadelphia City Hall, the Franklin Institute, U.S. Steel Headquarters, PNC Park and Heinz Field, Lincoln Road, the U.S. State Department and the Pentagon, as well as miles of suburban offices from Hartford, CT to Miami, FL.
32BJ is affiliated with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), an organization of 2 million members united by a belief in the dignity and worth of workers and the services they provide. In order to improve lives and promote a more just society, SEIU focuses a large amount of its resources on organizing new workers into the union so as to raise standards for all workers.
As part of SEIU Justice for Janitors, Stand for Security and Multi Service Workers campaigns, 32BJ helps building service workers lift themselves out of poverty by wining livable wages and meaningful benefits, including healthcare and paid sick days.
SEIU 32BJ members come from 64 different countries and speak 28 different languages, but are united in a single fight for fairness and decency. Our members are a diverse coalition of hard working immigrant and native born individuals coming together to achieve the American Dream.
