Trip to Brno, see Spielberg and Jovovich usenetposts - 77 views - 1 day ago
Went to Brno, the "Austrian Manchester'. It is of course now not in Austria any more. It is generally regarded as the second city of the Czech Republic, and the capital of the region of Moravia.

Every youtuber aspires to be a budding Spielberg - but where does that name come from geographically? Possibly a number of places, but the most famous is this Habsburg political prison.

Not only Spielberg features in this film, but I also bumped into Milla Jovovich, as you will see, who kindly agreed to appear for my viewers.

Just because I don't know anything about a subject doesn't mean I can't teach a lesson in it. After all, it never bothers quite a few people on YouTube!

Серебро: Журавли (lyrics in Russian/English) win081 - 37,719 views - 1 year ago
The song was chosen by Serebro to satisfy the patriotic song requirement when they entered the competition to represent Russia to compete in the Eurovision Contest 2007 in Helsinki. Serebro won the competition and represented Russia. At the Eurovision Contest 2007, Serebro received the third place for Russia with the song "Song #1".

"Cranes" (translated and copyright by win081/Anti-Defamation)

It seems sometimes the soldiers
who didn't come home from the bloody battlefields,
weren't buried under the ground,
They turned into white cranes...

That has happened since long time ago,
They have been flying, and calling,
Maybe that's why we are often sadly
and silently, looking into the sky.

They fly and fly up in the sky,
They fly from the morning till the night,
In their formation there is a space;
Probably that space is mine.

The day will come for me to fly,
To fly with these cranes flying in the same blue sky,
I will be calling from the sky, in the crane's calling,
the names of loved ones that I left on the ground.

This is a well known Soviet song, it is emotionally sad and it has always brought people into tears.

In the WWII, Soviet had about more than 26.2 million people died, that was about 14% of the total Soviet population, or one out of every seven died during the war. Death was not happened to other families, death was happened to every family in Soviet.

As a comparison; Nazi Germany was 10.5%, China 3.9%, Japan 3.8%, France 1.3%, Italy 1.0%, UK 0.9%, and USA 0.3%.

NOTE: Out of the 26.2 million Soviet deaths, Russia has 14.0 million and all the other ex-Soviets have 12.3 million, notably Ukraine 6.8 million, Belarus 2.3 million.

Therefore, this is not just a Russian song, this is a Soviet song. All the Soviets have the blood and tears in it.

Up to August, 2007, the deaths in the most recent American War in Iraq is 1.2 million or 4.6% of the total Iraq population.

General Introduction to Huliganov's YouTube Russian Course usenetposts - 8,222 views - 9 months ago
This is the introduction to the whole Russia course, which I didn't do at the start as I never knew it would take off as it has done. I've added annotations to get people started to various start points in the course and the goldlist system, and to enlarge on the points raised.

The Facebook group by Lafeen Maggio has the URL:

The google group has the URL
http://groups.google.com/group /huliganov?pli=1

http://astore.amazon.com/wwwus enetposc-20 is the Amazon affiliates store containing my recommendations. If you buy there, it may not be the cheapest for you, I don't need the 4% I get, but I will use it for competition prizes in the channel. You can see what is available there, and then buy it somewhere cheaper if you like. If I ever need your money, believe me, I'll say so.

What I do need, on the other hand, from loyal viewers are the following things:

1. Please subscribe to the channel
2. Please give me hits
3. Please give me good ratings
4. Do write comments, including the correction of errors, answers to other contributors questions, not necessarily only praise for the videos, which is nice but discussion is even better!
5. Please support the other kinds of video on the channel - at least give the radio shows and the travel vids a try.
6. Please add the vids to your playlists and favorites
7. Please tell all your friends about the course - don't keep it under your furry hat!
8. If you want me to address your college or society or do a guest lecture, then the expenses must be covered by you ahead of time. Let me know if you want me to speak and what the topic, duration and the audience will be.
9. Please understand that I am unlikely to have the time to pursue much by way of personal correspondence, and that questions asked in email, unless specifically marked private, will be assumed to be "mailbag" which I can read out and answer on air in future videos.
10. Please note that all films are embed enabled - you can use them in other sites not-for-profit, but you have to keep them in full, and not take the credit. They should link back here.

Many thanks and happy learning!

RL101 - 1 :Some Enchanted Evening to learn Russian! usenetposts - 48,221 views - 3 years ago
Here Viktor Dmitrievitch Huliganov intrioduces his new vlogging format - first a lesson on the Russian language, starting with the alphabet, then a joke, and finally a song. In this case the lesson is the origins of the Russian alphabet and the benefits of learning it, the joke is about parrots and the song is "Some Enchanted Evening".

RL101 - 2 : The Six Letters That Are The Same usenetposts - 20,726 views - 3 years ago
Here Viktor Dmitrievich Huliganov continues with Russian lesson number 2. The theme of today's lesson, which is followed by a joke and a song, is the letters KOMETA which have basically the same values in the Russian alphabet and the English, but look out! There are "leetle trickies" which mean that even these are not quite as simple as they look!

The James Whale Radio Show on Play Two UK #1 usenetposts - 1,930 views - 1 year ago
This is the first recorded feed of the James Whale Radio Show on Play Two UK ( http://www.playradiouk.com ). Last week (20th May 2008) was the first ever edition of the James Whale Radio Show on Play Two UK, but as not video stream was attempted on the pilot show, I have started numbering from this show, which aired 27th May 2008.

The James Whale Radio Show is available to listen to live and to participate on Play Radio UK on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 22:00 hours UK time. I hope that James' massive fan base from free-to-air radio will follow him in making the switch to internet radio, which is the future of radio broadcasting. This service is here as well as an audio podcast on playradio's website for those who had to miss the show, but I know James hopes that wherever possible people will become a part of the show by listening live, phoning, skyping or emailing the show, and taking part in the live skype chat. The details of how to get involved can be found on the NTTBS videos on this channel, and in addition to those mention should be made of James' own site http://www.jameswhaleradio.com

The feed this time is unfortunately rather fragmented, and there is only about half the show on it. This was because the London Linx server was having troubles during the show. Much of the UK internet had trouble at that time, not just Playradio UK, and it was outside the control of all parties.

Enjoy.

This is the James Whale radio show from 3rd June 2008, this time all four hours of it, unlike last week owing to the technical issues back then, with over an hour of David Icke on the telephone to James Whale.

Viktor Dmitrievitch Huliganov reads Lewis Carroll usenetposts - 1,764 views - 3 years ago
In this second video featuring Viktor Dmitrievitch Huliganov, the hard-nosed businessman shows his cultural side, and introduces us to the one of the delights of English literature - a poem by Lewis Carroll.

Among Huliganov's comments: "poetry is not about beaches ... they are about the whole of existence. Will you join life, or just sit on the beach?"

We go into 2009 carrying over 400 hours (36 hours last year) of edutainment and comedy, making this one of the most content-packed channels on YouTube. There are 695 clips going into the New Year (360 at the start) and about 100 of those added this year were of cammed talk radio programmes with the best UK talk radio talent: the largest video archive of talk radio on the net. In 2009 my aim is to reach 1000 videos. The new content will be described in my New Year Address. Subscribers will not be disappointed, but new radio is not on the menu for now.

BTW, the 613 subscribers I had at the start of 2008 grew to 1,531 at 31/12/2008. I would like to get to 3,000 in 2009. The 33,603 channel views grew to 69,791 and I'd like it to hit 100,000 in 2009.

The total video views went up in the year from 474,295 to 1,305,400 and I'm hoping for this to hit 3 million in 2009.

Please watch, give feedback, subscribe and spread the word, and help achieve the goals for the channel in 2009!
About Me: I'm an accountant who can help you with your needs in East Europe. I hope to be a writer too one day. I take videos in the meantime as it is doable while I do other things, and writing books is actually much more time consuming.

Movies:
Alternative comedy shows such as the Fast Show, Harry Enfield, etc. I like a lot of movies, but don't get to the cinema much. Got "A touch of Frost" box set for Christmas, and will enjoy that, but other than that and "Lost" I barely watch any TV. Some TV stuff I catch up with on here.
Music:
Easy listening, country music, and classical, anything that uses the human voice. I am not very genre-based but I like music that I can sing. What I cannot bear is people who drive or talk with music just in the background. Either you are listening to music or not.
Books:
Too many to list! But I think Alexander Mc Call Smith is probably the greatest contemporary writer. Enjoying Zamoyski's history books right now.

On a recent visit to the Imperial War Museum in London, I saw a poster which said 'YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU!' and encouraging people to join the army. I immediately popped round to the nearest army recruiting place only to be told that the first world war ended more than ninety years ago.
I wish the museum would keep its exhibits up to date to avoid this type of confusion happening.

Last night I dreamt I was in Switzerland, walking in the mountains which was very pleasant and I woke up happy. I mentioned this 'Alptraum' to a German colleague who said he was very sorry and told me to try not to think about it.
What is wrong with these Germans I ask myself.
Hows about a fiver for me to continue my German language studies?

I recently attended a major conference for the heads of state of various countries held in Washington DC.
On trying to get in, I was stopped by the bouncers at the door. Fortunately I had thought ahead and had attached a large bright red comedy penis to my head and everyone thought I was Gordon Brown!
Anyway, the places was full of heads of state and also secret service men. I was rather surprised to see all the secret service people had listening devices stuck in their ears.
It therefore comes as no surprise to me to think that Reagan, Kennedy and Lincoln were all shot. These secret service people should be protecting the president and not listening to their MP3 players!!

Eleven years ago, President Clinton amused and entertained the world with his claim that he had not had sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski.
Believing that some things should remain private between the two of us and in respect of Monica's privacy, I am unwilling to say publicly if I have or have not had sex with Ms. Lewinsky. I would have thought that it is patently obvious given that she has a face like a rabid baboon.

I was in Green Park underground station the other day when I heard some students busking. They were great. First they played Light my Fire, then they did Do you want to touch me and finally Disco Inferno. Wonderful - music to my - and everyone else's ears. I opened up my briefcase, took out the contracts and signed them up there and then on five year contracts with Sony Music UK.
It was only when I got back on the train and was past Oxford Circus that I remembered that I am not in fact a major recording executive but in fact an unemployed labourer.
I think you had better give them my fiver.

In the 1992 film Bitter Moon, that good looking French bird whose name I cannot remember but who is married to Roman Polanski and was born in 1966 said that Peter Coyote(born 1939) that he had ruined their sex session when he spoke whilst wearing a pig mask because 'pigs don't speak'!!
What is it about the French that they do not know the first thing about literature? Has she never read Animal Farm?

When I am out on my bike I often think of amusing epithets for your channel. Only by the time I have got home I have usually forgotten them.
I wonder if you would mind jogging along behind my bike so I could tell you them when I think of them and you could note them down.

And now I have just remembered one about Bitter Moon I thought of on Saturday....
