Holly's 4 Year Old Birthday Party in 1992 (Part 2 of 2) tommytillman - 30 views - 3 weeks ago
Our little Holly, at 4 years old, back in 1992. My, how the years fly by.......

This was her birthday party at Celebration Station in Greensboro. And notice, I had some hair back then, and it was dark!

You may have noticed Karen not there.... she was in the Hospital at the time.... we missed her.

The candles were a bit hard to blow out... they were the trick kind that you can't blow out.....

Westover Church Classics - "Were You There?" tommytillman - 15 views - 1 month ago
Digging through my box of old cassette tapes from Westover Church, I listened to all the old songs sung by the choir during the 1999-2004 era. Back in those days, we did a lot of traditional choral arrangements.

Sit back, and enjoy these older classics. And for those of you that have never heard these before, you are in for a treat!

This is the 2nd of the group to be posted. Here we have Barry, Mark and I believe another gentleman doing the leads on "Were You There?", "Blessing, Honour", and "I See the Lord". This was performed on July 7, 2000.

Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome or HPS is an extremely rare and complicated condition affecting only 600 people in the United States and Puerto Rico. It is a genetic metabolic disorder characterized by Albinism, vision impairment and bleeding diathesis. In 2005, The Mouse Project was launched. This name was chosen as scientist use mice in their laboratories to identify and isolate potential cures. The American Thoracic Society has matched the total raised research funding to support the Molters quest to find a cure for their children.

HPS is a type of albinism. In other words, not everyone with albinism is at risk for HPS. Albinism is sort of an umbrella word for a big collection of genes that can cause albinism. OCA1, OCAIA, OCAIB, OCA2, OCA3, OCA4 etc. HPS 1, or 2, or 3 and so on, are just other genes that cause albinism. It's a matter of having the gene or not. It isn't something that someone with another type of albinism could develop later. It's something people with albinism should be tested for because typically people don't know what gene causes their albinism.

Everyone with HPS type 1 and 4 develops pulmonary fibrosis - not just most as I stated incorrectly in my video. It is not understood yet as to why one person in their 20s gets pulmonary fibrosis, and another doesn't show signs until their 70s, or why the average is 30s. But, there are some trigger going on. Staying away from toxins such as cigarette smoke and keeping on top of colds etc. can make a difference.

Everyone with HPS has a bleeding disorder. One may not have the GI issue, or have lung issues, but everyone has the bleeding disorder. Because some of us are worse bleeders than others, some people think that if they haven't ever had a bad bleed, they're mild and don't need to be concerned. This is not the case.

This holds true for me. Although I do not show any of the symptoms for bleeding I am extra careful during my pregnancy and am seeing a high risk ObGyn.
