How do you become a Masters-prepared nurse instructor? Well, we have an expert here, Mary King, whoâs been teaching for over 30 years.
Mary King: But there are many, many, many different ways that you could achieve the Masters degree in Nursing, which the NLN (the National League for Nursing) requires that you have. Now, sometimes small little schools will hire someone with a BSN [Bachelor of Science, Nursing] who agrees to work toward the degree, and NLN will, allow that. But all of our NLN, National League for Nursing, accredited schools require that your Nursing Instructors hold a Masters degree in the field. However, if you have a BSN, and are working toward it then they will allow you to teach, you see.
But many students go straight from BSN, straight to MSN [Masters of Science, Nursing], and âNow, Iâm going to be a Nursing Professor!â It is my recommendation that any person who desires to be a nursing educator first know the field very, very well. Work in the field, from the ground up so that you know how to do everything. How can you delegate things, how can you teach someone to do something if you donât know how to do it yourself? And so, I just really believe a prerequisite, regardless of whether you go from one level of nursing to another, to another, to another, to another. Or whether you go straight from a generic program into a Masters program, and straight from there I do not recommend that you go straight into teaching. You must be able to do it before you can teach somebody else how to do it, and it really, really helps to have been in the field.

The best way to have homemade cookies ready for anyone, at anytime, is to have the cookie dough already prepared, well in advance. Thatâs where our cookie dough log comes into play.
Start with a cardboard tube that you can get from a paper towel roll, and slice it down the center. Open up the cardboard, insert a piece of waxed paper, and then youâll be ready for the cookie dough.
Place the cookie dough on the waxed paper, on the inside roll of the cardboard. Place as much cookie dough inside the roll as possible. Tightly pack the cookie dough in the waxed paper. Secure the cardboard with rubber bands. This will help the cookie dough keep a rounded shape.
Place this new cookie dough log in the freezer, and wait for it to get hard. When you want some fresh cookies, pull out your log from your freezer, slice, bake and serve.

Welcome to Tips.Net. Today we are going to be talking about turning a normal room into this: a Christmas wonderland. Letâs get started.
Make sure you have everything cleaned off. Dust the counters, clear off the countertops. Itâs going to make it so much easier when you are starting to put all your Christmas decorations out, you donât want any garbage laying around.
Now the focal point is going to be your Christmas tree. You want it to look full, vibrant and not fake. However, when you take it out of the box it looks like thisânot very pretty. So, letâs talk about how to make it look fuller.
A normal pine tree has branches that go in all directions, so we are going to need to take our mini-branches and have them go in all directions as well. Ultimately what you are trying to do is fill in all the empty space with your branches. So, if you have to kink them a little bit, move them a little higher, a little lowerâthatâs ok, âcause we are also going to be filling it with ornaments and lights.
Now here is our before and after. Before, you see a lot of holes, a lot of giant gaps in the tree. After, you see that with just a little bit of time of separating the many branches we have a lot fuller looking tree, and thatâs going to make it a lot easier when putting on the decorations and lights.
Test your lights before you try putting them on the tree. If they donât work, throw them away. They cost like a buck fifty to three bucks. Donât wrap your lights around your tree; instead just weave them in between the branches. Makes them a lot easier to come off when you are ready to put your Christmas decorations away.
Now the kids will be more than eager to put on all the Christmas decorations. So let the shorter kids put the decorations on the lower part of the tree, and the taller kids can go higher up.
Fill in the rest of the room with Christmas decorations that you can find from your local thrift store.

If you want a really good pizza recipe, but donât want to spend a lot of money for it, try French bread pizza!
Take the pan throw all your bacon inside. Make it nice and crispy, you need to be able to break this up to put it on your pizza.
Now, preheat your oven to about 350°. This will give it plenty of time to warm up before you start putting in your pizza.
Now, I have already pre-sprayed this pan with some PAM spray. So now I am just going to put on the aluminum foil to help keep off any of the extra toppings that are going to fall onto the pan and can stick on it later to make it really hard to remove.
Slice your French bread vertically then horizontally, making sure that you donât press too hard on top. Otherwise, you are going to squish your loaf of French bread.
Now the rest of this is pretty obvious. Put on your sauce on the open face of all the French bread loaf. Add all the toppings that you like. Make sure that they are generously spread around, and keep in mind that this is not going to be greasy. All the moisture that is coming from the cheese and the sauce is going to drip down into the French bread, OK? So, you can put as much of thisâ¦of the toppings and cheese as you want on there, and it is still not going to feel like you need a napkin afterwards.
Put your pizzas into the oven, and it takes about ten to fifteen minutes till itâs done. Just make sure that the cheese is melted all the way across the French bread. And then you are ready to serve. Cut it up, and give it to as many people as you would like. Each loaf of French bread can serve up to four people.
Cleanup is a breeze, just wrap up the aluminum foil and toss it in the trash.

Welcome to Tips.Net. Today we are going to be talking about how to get that turkey looking golden and crisp, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Start off by preheating your oven to 475 degrees. Now every turkey comes completely frozen when you get it, so you need to have time to thaw it. Ours was about ten pounds, so two to three days.
Take a stick of butter, put it in your microwave and melt it. It takes about a minute or so. And then go ahead and put the butter to the side.
Come back to your turkey and remove all the wrapping, including the netting and the plastic. And remove it from the plastic. The inside of the turkey will have the neck and the gizzards, make sure you remove both. They both come in little baggies.
Youâll need some rosemary and some thyme. Fill about one tablespoon of each in a bowl and place it to the side.
Now with either a rubber glove or a plastic glove, remove the skin from the meat, but just slightly separating it. This is going to be used as an insulator to keep your meat really fresh.
Place the butter into the turkey meat, massaging it even into the thighs. Wash off any excess butter so that the skin doesnât get too crispy. Adding your rosemary and thyme, massage it throughout the turkey. This will give it a really rich flavor.
Place your turkey right-side up into your cooking pot. Make sure to add your lid. Place the pot into the oven and cook for twenty minutes. Once the twenty minutes have expired, reduce the heat down to 250 degrees. Take your thermometer and place it into the turkey breast, it should read about 170 to 180 degrees. Do the same to the turkey thigh, that should be about 180 to 190 degrees.
When youâre all done, youâll have a beautiful looking Thanksgiving turkey for the whole family to enjoy. If you enjoyed this tip, please press the subscribe button of the upper left hand side of your screen.
