Nitin is an alumni of one of India's leading business schools, and was working as a brand manager for Indias largest selling news magazine before he turned to follow his passion of filmmaking. He has done a filmmaking course from New York. On returning to India he set up a film production house to make Extraordinary films with Ordinary people.

The United Nations environment programme selected one of his films on Global Warming that was made entirely with the people of a small village in the Himalayas. Nitin is an Asia Society Fellow and has won a special award from the British Council for creative entrepreneurship in the social sector
