Subatomic Sound, NYC. Worldwide bass culture and futureproof low end vibrations. All sounds dubwise and otherwise, from roots to dancehall to dubstep, past to future. Home of Subatomic Sound System, the label, radio show, and associated family.
About Me:

A musical multivitamin full of New York City goodness. Founded at the turn of the millennium, NYCs Subatomic Sound System has built a reputation worldwide for explosive shows, innovative production, and breaking down barriers with their unique adaptation of 1970s Jamaican sound system culture and dub reggae studio techniques to all kinds of bass heavy music genres, current technology, and live performance.

Subatomic Sound System is a collective of musicans, producers, and some of the top vocal and MC talents in NYC and beyond, founded by producer/ musician/ DJ/ label heads, Emch and Noah, Tha Riddim Doktor. Subatomic Sound performances notoriously blur the line between band, live electronic performance, and DJ set, varying the lineup throughout any given show as they traverse different vibes and genres.

Subatomic Sound System crew featured in these videos include: Emch Subatomic, Jahdan Blakkamoore (Noble Society), Daddy Lion Chandell (The Meditations), Treasure Don, Rhiannon, Noah Tha Riddim Doktor (No Shadow Kick), Naada, Benny Beats (Nomadic Wax), Nemiss, Chauncey Yearwood (Pimps of Joytime), Amon Drum (Afrokinetic), Dubblestandart, DJ Collage, and more.

In the fall of 2008 Subatomic Sound released the Iron Devil 12" with the first ever dubstep tracks featuring reggae legend and dub originator Lee Scratch Perry, followed that up with the Blackboard Jungle dubstep 12" in May 2009, and will be releasing their next full length album "Emergency Dubcast Signal" in Fall 2009. Subatomic Sound has had nearly a dozen releases involving just about as many labels, including their last full length "On All Frequencies" which charted simultaneously in the reggae and electronic Top 40 radio charts. Starting July 19 at Summerstage in NYC, Subatomic Sound along with Lee Scratch Perry & Vienna's Dubblestandart will kick off the Planet Dub world tour.

SUBATOMIC SOUND SYSTEM PRESS QUOTES

"Subatomic Sound System's unorthodox mashup of styles connects the dots between dub reggae, dancehall, hip hop, drum & bass, downtempo and broken beat ... Tracing the roots of bass heavy dub with a funk-styled edge of underground hip-hop, SSS bridges dancehall energy and multi-cultural communication with solid beats, meaningful messages and remix trickery." - BPM magazine

4 Afros **** "Subatomic holds a clinic on the standard of releases for 2007 on their newest album [On All Frequencies]. Artful lyrics, soulful singing and innovative beats... These beats could become the blueprint for future producers...Genius producing."

You'll be pleased to know Pandora has you in their database (if you didn't already) and we're listening to your station right now. In an irie mood after the Carnival Parade today and a visit with Phil Aupperle.

I put up an edited cut of those Velvet Revolver clips with an intro, let me know what you think!
