Artwork
Cagol highlights the contradiction of today's symbolical elements and situations, and our changed system of values through a minimum digital elaboration or through public art, site specific, installations and performances. In particular, the images in his photographic and video artworks are often turned upside down, changed in aim and split in the center, so much that new forms created by the fusion of the two mirrored parts are created, and the departing object and its meaning are made almost unrecognizable. The typical metropolitan landscapes and the symbols of urban culture that are part of our imagery become multiform identities in a continuous transformation. Within his artistic career, traveling has been a fundamental factor through which he looks for or meets contemporary landscapes and symbols of our era!
