dherna12- I'm pretty sure the Truefitt & Hill store at 900 Michigan Ave. carries some. You might also call around to some of the stores that specialize in cutlery or military reproductions.

Does anyone know a retailer that sells DE razors in the Chicago area? I'd rather inspect it in person and see what I'm getting and compare, instead of just ordering online.
Thanks. |

Dutchbest - You could lather in the cup but it would be very wasteful. Better to lather directly to the face, or into another bowl then onto the face.

After watching your videos, I had my first wet shave this morning, using a cheap kit I got at Wal-Mart (A bowl, a boar brush, and soap) and a plain old Gillette. I have to say it is the best shave I have ever had--probably the closest I'll get to a barber shop shave, as every barber I've talked to doesn't do them anymore.
Your videos have been a great resource in learning the basics, and I will definitely keep watching as I keep shaving! |

Hello Mantic!
I got here via B&B and I'm ready to make the leap from a Fusion with gel to a Merkur HD with Derby blades and some real lather. I have a question though, regarding my shaving soap. It's rather hard (like a normal soap) and comes in a cup. Does this mean I build the lather in the cup itself? I hope that you know what I mean. I love you videos by the way, keep up the good work! |

rohgaj16- No, but the first widely popular gel was probably Edge in the late '70's.
