Oxford professor Richard Dawkins presents a series of lectures on life, the universe, and our place in it. With brilliance and clarity, Dawkins unravels an educational gem that will mesmerize young and old alike. Illuminating demonstrations, wildlife, virtual reality, and special guests (including Douglas Adams) all combine to make this collection a timeless classic.
The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures for Children were founded by Michael Faraday in 1825, with himself as the inaugural lecturer. The 1991 lecturer was Richard Dawkins whose five one-hour lectures, originally televised by the BBC, are now available free online, courtesy of The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science. The entire 5-hour program is also available on a 2-DVD set through our online store. http://richarddawkins.net/stor |

http://richarddawkins.net - On the 30th of September 2007, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens sat down for a first-of-its-kind, unmoderated 2-hour discussion, convened by RDFRS and filmed by Josh Timonen.
All four authors have recently received a large amount of media attention for their writings against religion - some positive, and some negative. In this conversation the group trades stories of the public's reaction to their recent books, their unexpected successes, criticisms and common misrepresentations. They discuss the tough questions about religion that face the world today, and propose new strategies for going forward. This video is provided free online by The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science (RDFRS) and http://RichardDawkins.net . I'd just like to thank you for allowing everyone to view these videos. Watching them has been a great privilege, and I hope that I can continue doing this in the future.
You see lately all the great videos have been blocked from anyone outside the country of origin... So sad. |

SIR ARE you GAY & ARE YOU "jewish" ?
THAT WOULD EXPLAIN a LOT OF THINGS~ NIKOLA TESLA is the WORLD'S GREATEST INVENTOR + GENIUS of ALL TIMES & HE WAS A SERBIAN ORTHODOX PRIEST's SON who BELIEVED IN CHRISTIAN MYSTICISM. ALSO A VEGETARIAN for 55 yrs. till the End. SO NONE of YOUR HYPOTHESES BRING ANY COHESION. |

You might say so cause he, after all, becames our leader! After hundreds of years, we finally have a Man with an open mind, a cientist with a brilhant mind in a world where ignorance, fanatism and supersticion, even in XXI Century ! He told us to get out of the closet, and we start doing so and I hope to have the privilege to shake his hands very soon, here in Brazil, where I live.

Pobocze: My French isn't that good but I understood that much! :-) Y'know, I *KNOW* The Big D. will probably never read this but I have a degree in Biochemistry and studied for a PhD in Molecular Biology...so I knew all about the intricate workings of all the various amino acids, proteins, enzymes etc that makes life 'tick'.....it was only when I started reading Dawkins (and I think I must've read pretty much EVERYTHING he's ever penned!) that I actually saw The Big Picture: even though at some deap-seated biology / chemistry level, I must've KNOWN that we're all related, it took The Big D (God of All Atheists) to make me 'see' it!
If you ARE reading this Prof, this'll make you smile: I was leisurely reading 'River Out of Eden' and suddenly, I slammed the book down on my lap and exclaimed, "OF COURSE! OF *COURSE* we're all related! Why didn't *I* think of that?!" (p.s. sorry, Huxley) Just wanted to share that with you! |
