by NIGHMediaWorld 476 views
This video was created for distribution to increase concern for maternal health worldwide. Please share with as many friends as possible! Thank-you!
It is intended as a 'Trailer' and 'Public Service Announcement (PSA)' to introduce the wider 'Daring, Caring & Sharing' Maternal Health Awareness Campaign of the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health.

The video features the haunting voice of Polish-Canadian soprano MARIA KNAPIK singing excerpts of 'Lullaby to a Dying Child' from the Polish opera 'Halka' by STANISLAW MONIUSKO. Piano by Maestro MICHEL BROUSSEAU. Music from NIGH's archives, recorded at the 'Raise Your Voice' Concert, co-hosted by NIGH on September 19, 2010, at the Lincoln Center in New York City, on the eve of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals Summit. Chosen for the evocative grief MARIA brings to this recording, her voice shares the universal pathos of a mother mourning her loss, never to see her child again.

Albie Aware: Breast Cancer is a Family Affair
by AlbieAware 506 views
This is a quick turnaround, guerilla marketing, 30 second spot created for Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation in response to the Komen flap a few weeks ago. Stunningly, we discovered that everyone on screen and everyone in the crew had been touched by breast cancer. We're hoping to make the video go viral. Please pass it on. Here's a segment from the press release.
"The point of the spot, (written and produced by Steve LaRosa) and the corresponding testimonials provided by the participants, illustrates the pervasive impact of this horrible disease. As is stated, Breast Cancer is a Family Affair. And, as the spot depicts, it cuts across generations and ethnicity."

Clean Water of Viet Dreams in Kontum - 1 min version
by Khac-Quan nguyen 91 views
The Vinh Son orphanages (formally known as Vinh Son houses) are located in remote areas in Central Highland- Kontum province. These centers are administered by the Sisters of the Miraculous Medal and do not receive subsidies from government. The Sisters provide shelter, food, education, and very basic medical care to all children regardless of their religion. Most of the minors have been orphaned by the deaths of both parents, and a few have only one parent and live under extreme difficulties. While their age ranges from newborn to high school, most are in kindergarten or preschool. The Sisters have rescued infants and babies from people who believe only the birth mother can feed her own children. Therefore, if the mother dies, her child is buried with her. Sisters are struggling to provide all of these kids their basic needs. After school, the older orphans help with farming and raising chickens and pigs for food. They are always looking for a better meal each day and enough tuition to pay each semester. VietDreams was touched by the stories about these unfortunate kids and decided to give Sisters a hand by providing them school tuition and daily meals.

Deeper Missions -- Life-Saving Aid | Life-Changing Travel
by davidedwardwillmore 130 views
Deeper Missions is a tax exempt 501(c)3 public charity, dedicated to changing and saving lives through meaningful mission travel to implement sustainability projects, such as clean energy, safe water and sanitation.
Our mission is to supply materials and provide on-the-ground services which improve the education and livelihood of the people of West Africa.
Without reliable electricity, children and their families are living with poor respiratory health because of fumes from diesel generators, kerosene lamps and candles. Without managed sanitation and safe water sources, drinking water for communities and schools is more often contaminated, causing ill health and loss of school/work time.
The current efforts of Deeper Missions is focused on environmentally-friendly projects such as self-contained solar lighting (so children can study without using the typical and unhealthy open-flame lamps) and community-friendly fresh water well-digging, solar composting toilets and other sanitation projects. -

Jazz education helps supplement the schools art curriculum.

"The Home of Global Love Day each May 1st"
Words by Harold W. Becker. Music by Claude Veziau "Chemin du Retour" and images from worldwide Global Love Day events held each May 1. Video produced by John T. Goltz (TLF).
Narrative: To know where love begins, look within. Our life story is written with love and told from the heart. There is magnificent beauty all around us when we choose to observe life through love. The smallest gesture of kindness can change the destiny for many. Each of us has the power to change the world, imagine what we can do together.

My Project in India
by globalmilestones1960 38 views
The project is a school in Lakkasandra, a small village in Doddaballapur taluk, a rural district of Bangalore. The school project was founded in June 2001 by Sir Shri Rayaru and then consisted of 34 children who were taught in mud huts. Meanwhile, the number of students has increased to 400. The cost of the school, school uniforms, food, and all that is needed to get the school running upright, will be paid by donations or by the low tuition, which must find the parents.
We, the volunteers, support the project as best we can, but without any financial aid or assistance of any kind, this is not to create. To ensure a good education, we urgently need more classrooms, an auditorium, sports facilities, computer and science teaching materials, training for teachers, funding of daily meals, school uniforms and books.
For the personal development of young people and women, we begin with IT training that will help them get a better chance of a good job - and thus able to escape from poverty. Further deny women their daily living by sewing and the manufacture of dairy products.
We appreciate any help - in every way! -

Mission Statement
Our mission is to offer meaningful vocational and educational services for youth so that they may develop a positive self-image as well as a sense of hope and purpose for their future. by YDIteatroconsejo 159 views
Youth Development Inc.'s 4th Street Outreach offers a ton of great services for youth ages 12-21.
Our Teatro Consejo (Theatre of Council) program uses performance and visual arts to provide youth with a positive creative outlet for their lives. With free hip-hop dance classes every Wednesday and beat production/rap groups on Thursdays, it's hard not to find something you're in to.
Our Gang Intervention and Prevention program offers 1-on-1 case management including educational support, job development, and criminal justice system support. The program also offers pro-social activities including our Ukre8 group every Tuesday evening, where we challenge teens to create instead of destroy.
We also offer individual and family therapy, as well as substance abuse services with a certified therapist.
And best of all, all of these services are absolutely free.
