Bare Conductive greeting card kit: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1307
    50mL Bare Conductive paint: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1305

Bare Conductive Paint is a multipurpose electrically conductive material perfect for all of your DIY projects! Bare Paint is water based, nontoxic and dries at room temperature.

Bare Paint is the first non-toxic electrically conductive paint available to consumers today. This unique child-friendly material is designed for people of all ages to explore and learn about electronics with an inclusive, easy-to-use material.

Bare Paint provides a dramatically different method of interacting with electronics as it can be applied to almost any surface, including cardboard, paper, wood, wallpaper, walls, textiles, and some plastics.

Bare paint can be used to replace conventional acid etching, making it a great electronics prototyping tool. Nontoxic and water-soluble, Bare Paint can be used without gloves or mask. The paint dries quickly at room temperature, and can be removed with soap and water. This means it's also not water-proof or weather-resistant!

Flora Lux Sensor - Wearable Light Sensing

    by Adafruit Industries 4,271 views

    Stitch up yours today: http://learn.adafruit.com/flora-lux-sensor/

Add light-reactive sensing to your wearable Flora project with this high precision Lux sensor. The TSL2561 luminosity sensor is an advanced digital light sensor, ideal for use in a wide range of light situations. Compared to low cost CdS cells, this sensor is more precise, allowing for exact lux calculations and can be configured for different gain/timing ranges to detect light ranges from up to 0.1 - 40,000+ Lux on the fly. The best part of this sensor is that it contains both infrared and full spectrum diodes! That means you can separately measure infrared, full-spectrum or human-visible light. Most sensors can only detect one or the other, which does not accurately represent what human eyes see (since we cannot perceive the IR light that is detected by most photo diodes).

Flora Accelerometer - Wearable Motion Sensing!

    by Adafruit Industries 5,630 views

    Stitch up yours today: http://learn.adafruit.com/flora-accelerometer/

Add motion and direction sensing to your wearable Flora project with this high precision 3-axis Accelerometer+Compass sensor. Inside are two sensors, one is a classic 3-axis accelerometer, which can tell you which direction is down towards the Earth (by measuring gravity) or how fast the board is accelerating in 3D space. The other is a magnetometer that can sense where the strongest magnetic force is coming from, generally used to detect magnetic north. By combining this data you can then orient yourself.

    TIMESQUARE DIY Watch Kit

    by Adafruit Industries 12,007 views

Pick up this unique time piece at Adafruit: http://adafruit.com/products/1106
    Complete assembly instructions: http://learn.adafruit.com/timesquare-watch-kit

64 LEDs light up to tell you the time in a variety of ways. Built into the kit are 3 different watch 'faces' - a scrolling marquee with time and date, a binary watch display (for geeks, robots and binary fans), and a moon phase display (for beach-combers, werewolves). There's also a built in battery meter so you can check your battery life. Want to make your own watch? Easy! The microcontroller is an Arduino-compatible, all you need is an FTDI Friend and the Arduino IDE and you can design your own watch faces and upload them to the TIMESQUARE.

Engineered for greatness by PaintYourDragon, this watch squeezes 500-1000 full time displays out of a coin battery, and a up to one year 'resting' lifetime, so you can use this as a day-to-day time keeper.

Pi Holder Aluminum Case for Raspberry Pi

    by Adafruit Industries 18,974 views

    https://www.adafruit.com/products/1036

This gorgeous and indestructable Raspberry Piâ„¢ Case is as awesome as it is functional. Made in the U.S.A. by Barch Designs from Solid 6061-T6 Aircraft Grade Billet Aluminum which protects your Raspberry Pi from damage and also keeps your Pi running extra-cool by acting as a thermal heat sink (Please note: heat sinking is not required to use the Pi, but some people like having their Pi run cold)

The Pi Holder case is milled by Barch Designs on a CNC machine to exact tolerances. This allows just enough room for the Raspberry Pi to slide down into the case. Any bigger and the Pi would be loose and any smaller it would bind up.

    Here's an excerpt:
"A diode lets electrons flow in only one direction. It works like a switch: when current is flowing one way, the switch is on, but when current tries to flow the other way, the switch turns off. Sir John Ambrose Fleming is best known for inventing the diode, originally called the kenotron."

Articulated Arm Stand for USB Microscope

    by Adafruit Industries 3,977 views

    http://adafruit.com/products/969

We love pulling out our 5 Megapixel USB microscope for inspecting PCBs once in a while, but we really got to use it every day when we picked up this beautiful machined aluminum 3D stand. It has multiple articulated 'joints' for positioning the microscope in any way and is very sturdy and solid with a large flat base.

A single hand-friendly knob is used to loosen all the joints for positioning, then tighten it up to fix the position. The microscope is clamped in solidly but it can easily be removed by releasing the clasp for hand positioning when you need it. This is the best stand available for this microscope and it makes an excellent companion!

This is just a microscope stand, a USB microscope is not included! Please check out our 5MP USB Microscope in the shop to pick up a matching microscope: http://adafruit.com/products/636

    Adafruit 4-Digit 7-Segment Display w/I2C Backpack

    by Adafruit Industries 8,657 views

    http://www.adafruit.com/products/879

What's better than a single LED? Lots of LEDs! A fun way to make a small display is to use an 8x8 matrix or a 4-digit 7-segment display. Matrices like these are 'multiplexed' - so to control all the seven-segment LEDs you need 14 pins. That's a lot of pins, and there are driver chips like the MAX7219 that can control a matrix for you but there's a lot of wiring to set up and they take up a ton of space. Here at Adafruit we feel your pain! After all, wouldn't it be awesome if you could control a matrix without tons of wiring? That's where these adorable LED matrix backpacks come in. We have them in two flavors - a mini 8x8 and a 4-digit 0.56" 7-segment. They work perfectly with the matrices we stock in the Adafruit shop and make adding a bright little display trivial.

Proudly made in North America (Canada and USA). With these, you are, most definitely, from the future. For those special occasions when you need to be dressed to iMpress:
Weddings, Tech events, Sci-Fi/Comic-Cons, IPOs and VC funding opportunities.

CNC machined from the finest 6 series aluminum for durability and beauty. The iCufflinks are a remarkable accessory. Machined with a "screw in backing". Each iCufflink contains a circuit board with pulsating LED and battery.

iCufflinks are completely open source. The source code, circuit board files, schematics and CAD files are posted on GitHub. Mod & Hack away!

Before your fancy event, just pop the battery in, screw the backing and your iCufflinks will gently pulsate for up to 24 hours.

The "pulsing" is similar to the "breathing" LED pattern on many laptop and computer systems. The default pattern is reverse engineered from the Apple "breathing" LED on Macs, MacBooks, iMacs, etc.

    Adafruit NFC/RFID Shield for Arduino

    by Adafruit Industries 39,504 views

We've taken our popular Adafruit PN532 breakout board and turned it into a shield - the perfect tool for any 13.56MHz RFID or NFC application. http://www.adafruit.com/products/789

The Adafruit NFC shield uses the PN532 chip-set (the most popular NFC chip on the market) and is what is embedded in pretty much every phone or device that does NFC. It can pretty much do it all, such as read and write to tags and cards, communicate with phones (say for payment processing), and 'act' like a NFC tag. If you want to do any sort of embedded NFC work, this is the chip you'll want to use!

Emergency Lockpick Card - Getting Started

    by Adafruit Industries 76,736 views

Pick up a lockpick card up from Adafruit: http://www.adafruit.com/products/788

    Our lockpicking playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8354230E0287C858

    MIT's lockpicking guide: http://www.lysator.liu.se/mit-guide/MITLockGuide.pdf

Some people say "a college education opens doors" but for thousands of dollars less you can open any door you wish using this ever-handy emergency pick card.

Designed and produced by The Open Organisation Of Lockpickers (http://toool.us/), this ISO-compliant wallet-sized card can be kept easily on your person without hassle or fuss, but should the need arise for picks in a pinch, simply snap the card apart and you have a nine-piece toolkit at your disposal!

Comes with: two feeler hooks, a half-diamond, a wavy rake, a sawtooth rake, and a double-bump rake. The 'frame' of the card snaps apart into three tensioners.

Unlike other "credit card" pick sets pop up from time to time (that tend to either be interesting novelty items or overpriced and under-equipped), this TOOOL card is a genuine and fully functional lockpick set made of commercial-grade steel, not stamped aluminum or plastic.

This emergency pick card is made completely in the United States.

    Smart Cord Bluetooth Extension Cord

    by Adafruit Industries 3,563 views

This is Zsmart's patent pending electrical extension cord with manual and Bluetooth® wireless technology control. The Bluetooth wireless range of 30 feet or more, depending on environment. Does not require line of site. This is an inexpensive way to control on/off power via Bluetooth from a variety of devices. We like using these to turn on and off hard-to-reach projects high up or put inside structures without easy access. Since it uses an almost universal way of accessing it (A2DP Bluetooth) there are a lot of projects possible.

    Slip Ring with Flange

    by Adafruit Industries 13,752 views

    http://adafru.it/736

    22mm diameter, 6 wires, max 240V @ 2A

With a slip ring assembly, your electronics can now twist and turn safely. Add wheel encoders, 360 degree sensors, rotating LEDs, rotors and more! We've seen a lot of people DIY slip ring's out of desperation but no longer, simply pick up one of these to solve any rotation needs you have.

Inside the plastic tube is a gold plated slip ring for 6 wires. There are six color coded wire sets made of 26 AWG and no matter how you twist the assembly, they will remain in continuity. Each of the wire sets can carry up to 2A at up to 240VAC or 240VDC. There's a 44mm (1.7") diameter flange with mounting holes to make it easy to attach or you can cut it off with a hacksaw and drill/machine as you wish it seems to just be ABS plastic. Rated to rotate up to 300 RPM (but you can probably go faster if you don't mind a reduced life and/or noise)

    Square Digital RGB LED Pixels

    by Adafruit Industries 2,311 views

    https://www.adafruit.com/products/683

RGB Pixels are digitally-controllable lights you can set to any color, or animate. Each metal 'pixel square' contains 4 RGB LEDs and a controller chip soldered to a PCB. The pixel is then 'flooded' with epoxy to make it waterproof. These are fairly large pixels but they have a lot of nice mounting options, such as two metal flanges on the side and a 0.15"/4mm diameter hole in the middle so you can screw them directly onto a surface. They're typically used to make outdoor signs. Compared to our other LED dots, these are much bigger and much brighter, good for larger scale installations.

Diffused 5mm Slow Fade Flashing RGB LED

    by Adafruit Industries 4,013 views

    https://www.adafruit.com/products/679

These are very interesting 5mm diffused RGB LEDs - instead of having 4 pins to control 3 LEDs, they have only two leads - power and ground. When powered, the LEDs perform a slow fade through the rainbow, from red to orange to yellow, etc till they get back to red. See the video below for the timing and look. There is no way to change the 'program' or rate, its burned into a little chip that is inside the LED itself. If you need to have an RGB perform a particular arrangement, check out our RGB LEDs that you can easily control with a microcontroller:

    http://www.adafruit.com/products/159

We also have a version that's an exciting RGB flashing pattern:

RF Touch Wheel Controller for Analog RGB LED Strips

    by Adafruit Industries 4,001 views

    https://www.adafruit.com/products/678

This touch controller set is a quick and easy way to control a bunch of our 12V analog RGB LED strip. The box part contains power driver circuitry and an RF receiver. The handheld remote contains a capacitive touch interface and an RF transmitter. By wiring the analog strip to the box you can easily adjust the color from across the room. Since it is RF you don't need line-of-sight like you would with an IR Remote.

Build an "Internet of Things" connected mini printer that will do your bidding! This is a fun weekend project that comes with a beautiful laser cut case. Once assembled, the little printer connects to Ethernet to get Internet data for printing onto 2 1/4" wide receipt paper. The example sketch we've written will connect to Twitter's search API and retrieve and print tweets according to your requests: you can have it print out tweets from a person, a hashtag, mentioning a word, etc! Once you've gotten that working, you can of course easily adapt our sketch to customize the printer.

    ADAFRUIT X2 TIME BALL

    by Adafruit Industries 16,952 views

Why spend time in a crowded and cold times square when you can make your OWN Times Square LED ball? Perfect for new years eve, disco parties, weddings, raves, bar mitzvahs, or just a romantic night in. This DIY LED Disco Ball is made using Adafruit's 12mm LED pixels, an Arduino and two 2.4GHz XBee's (for wireless disco control!). The LED pattern is controlled by the open source graphics language, Processing so it works on Windows, Mac or Linux computers. The ball pattern is made of a dozen laser cut acrylic panels that are ziptied together and the hanging cord is also the power supply cable.

We'll have a full tutorial after the new year so stay tuned and get your leisure suit to the cleaners!

    Conway's Game of Life Kit

    by Adafruit Industries 3,152 views

    http://www.adafruit.com/products/89

In 1970, John Conway came up with a 1-player game called Game of Life. The Game of Life is a mathematical game that simulates 'colonies' that grow or die based on how crowded or lonely they are and is known for the way it creates a beautiful organic display out of randomness.

Here is a design for a simple electronic project that plays Conway's Game of Life. Make one kit and keep it on your desk, or attach multiple kit modules together to create a large display.

Originally created by Dropout Design, this revision adds a few extra features. The kit is very easy to make and an excellent first electronics/soldering project. It is perfect for workshops since at the end everyone can connect their completed module together.

The animated GIF above shows 4 modules connected together. Each kit comes unassembled and includes all parts necessary for one module.

Adafruit Wave Shield for Arduino Kit

    by Adafruit Industries 10,149 views

    https://www.adafruit.com/products/94

Adding quality audio to an electronic project is surprisingly difficult. Here is a shield for Arduinos that solves this problem. It can play up to 22KHz, 12bit uncompressed audio files of any length. It's low cost, available as an easy-to-make kit. It has an onboard DAC, filter and op-amp for high quality output. Audio files are read off of an SD/MMC card, which are available at nearly any store. Volume can be controlled with the onboard thumbwheel potentiometer.

This shield is a kit, and comes with all parts you need to build it. Arduino, SD card, tools, speaker and headphones are not included. It is fairly easy to construct and anyone with a successful soldering project under their belt should be able to build it.

The shield comes with an Arduino library for easy use; simply drag uncompressed wave files onto the SD card and plug it in. Then use the library to play audio when buttons are pressed, or when a sensor goes off, or when serial data is received, etc. Audio is played asynchronously as an interrupt, so the Arduino can perform tasks while the audio is playing.

Then use the library to play audio when buttons are pressed, or when a sensor goes off, or when serial data is received, etc. Audio is played asynchronously as an interrupt, so the Arduino can perform tasks while the audio is playing. Can play any uncompressed 22KHz, 16bit, mono Wave (.wav) files of any size. While it isnt CD quality, it is certainly good enough to play music, have spoken word, or audio effects. Check out the demo video/audio at the webpage Output is mono, into L and R channels, standard 3.5mm headphone jack and a connection for a speaker that is switched on when the headphones are unplugged Files are read off of a FAT16/FAT32-formatted SD/MMC card Included library and examples makes playing audio easy Please note that the library is rather bulky, requiring 10K of flash and more than 1/2 K of RAM for buffering audio. It works fine using an yATmega328-based Arduino (Duemilanove, Uno or compatible). This shield is not Mega or Leonardo compatible!
