UK DJ/producer Neil Quigley speaks to DJsounds from a Shindig meets Renaissance party, held at Digital nightclub, in Newcastle, UK. Here he waxes lyrical about playing a peak time set, his official Pacemaker deep house CD, tips and tricks for pre-play, how he organises his music collection, what he learnt from mentor John Digweed, and the usual components of his DJ set up.
As a DJ, Neil has played everywhere from heating up Digweed's Bedrock parties and Fabric and Ministry of Sound in London, to the far-flung Warung Beach Club, in Brazil.
Meanwhile, his self-defined 'electronic house with soul' productions have appeared on the likes of Audio Therapy, Urbantorque and Renaissance labels. This year the Renaissance mans even mixed up Renaissance's back catalogue (check out the Focus On release), among many other projects.

DJsounds stops by to profile the new multifunctional summertime venue, Bar Solar, located right in the city of Antwerp, where all kinds of parties and events have been kicking off this year. Bar Solar boasts a wide range of facilities, from a sun terrace, lounge area and restaurant, to a party deck, complete with Jacuzzi, a cocktail bar and an indoor clubbing area.
Here, at Bar Solar, we chat to Gary, a founder of the chic beachside venue, who speaks out about what's on offer, the idea, the ambience, the parties and their plans for the future.
2010 will see Bar Solar stay open even longer during the summer, and the venue is open for rental all year round.

Belgium's tattooed techno/house DJ/producer Marco Bailey talks to DJsounds about the summer of 2009. Topics include DJing, creating sets, and his continual crisscrossing of clubs and festivals, from Belgium to Ibiza.
Marco also talks about his abundance of recent releases. These include 'On the Rocks', produced with his studio partner Tom Hades, for 8 Sided Dice, 'Jungle Laps' on John Digweed's Bedrock imprint, 'Spicy' on Oliver Huntemann's Confused Recordings, and 'Vision', created together with Dany Rodriguez, and remixed by Ben Sims, on his very own MB Elektronics.
Following on from his hectic summer, Marco spins right across Europe this December, from Germany, to Spain to Switzerland and The Netherlands.

DJsounds catches up with an original acid house hero Nathaniel Pierre Jones, better known as DJ Pierre, who, in this clip, plays the Pure Acid Warehouse Rave, at club Petrol, in Antwerp. During the course of his interview, Pierre talks about playing the party, acid house culture, his preference for slider mixers, and how DJs and raves have changed since 'back in the day'.
This particular acid reunion party was created by 'Antwerp Acid Alliance', and joining Chi-town's DJ Pierre, to pump up the decibels and best 80s and 90s flavoured acieeeeed on the night, was Sven Van Hees, Pierre Elitair, Steve Cop, and Pioneer's own X-ian.
The old school Master Blaster, 303-synth pioneer and boss of Afro Acid Digital, DJ Pierre now has a career that covers three decades and the 'Phuture' holds much of the same as he continues DJing and producing into 2010. Look out for upcoming gigs at matter, in London, and for Gigolo Records, in Munich.
