With the help of MultiTouchVista you can use Surface to control ANY application. It does not need to be written specially for Surface. This video shows Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, Paint and applications from Windows 7 Touch Pack. You can also run Surface applications without reconfiguring anything.
I had issues following the video as well. However, I was able to figure out how to install it. This is what I did: The beginning part of the video was kind of vague, this is what I did:
1. Click Start > type: "cmd" > right click on 'cmd.exe' and run as administrator. 2. Navigated to the location where the Multitouch driver files were unzipped using the 'cd' command. 3. Continued navigating into the 'Driver' folder and then the 'x64' folder (as i was running 64 bit Windows 7) 4. Typed: "Install driver.cmd" > Enter
This should install the driver and windows asked to restart, then I followed the video.
After trying to follow the instructions on your website, I had trouble finding the MultiTouch.driver folder. Where should I grab it from? I've just finished installing the Windows SDK 6.1 and I'm using the Visual Studio 2008 suite. Is there someplace I'm forgetting to look? Thanks very much! Btw interesting videos, I want to get it working on my computer too!
