Until another political party comes into power, nothing is going to get better. We keep going back in forth between the lesser of two evils. Sure, Obama was change, but where it has been change for the better in some areas we've gone downhill in many others. Inform and empower yourself and the people around you and continue the pursuit of happiness.

I understand and am sympathetic to those who are born into less fortunate circumstances. I believe it is our responsibility as a nation to help build everyone up and make sure there are less and less "unfortunate circumstances" for our people. But people should not be allowed to freely leech off of that good faith support for their entire lives without ever contributing to the good of the nation or attempting to better themselves through employment and education. Nor should the government have the power to force any person to contribute their hard earned money to such a system. I think that people as a whole will do what's right when left to make informed, rational decisions, and I take at as a huge insult for government to tell me that I'm not able enough to decide what's best for me.

I do not want to disband or overthrow our government. I want to change it for the better so that the generations following mine aren't left with the same mess that our parents and grandparents have left us with. This country was built by people who wanted to get away from unfair and illegal taxation, people who wanted to be allowed to make their own decisions as to what was best for their families and practice their own religious beliefs. Yet we have blindly allowed the past century's administrations to disrespect and disobey the U.S. Constitution, which is a sacred document that, in many respects, has only become a display in a case in Washington and not the highest law of the land.

The Libertarian Party is not about anarchy; rather freedom. There's quite a difference. Government has its place in our lives, but it has grossly over-stepped its powers and functions and needs to be restricted, as many things that our government has done in recent years could be viewed by many as illegal or immoral. Government has consistently shown that it is irresponsible with OUR money and its power to make important decisions for people who need guidance. The U.S. government does not back up its words with actions and rarely has the true interests of the public at heart. If they did, they would treat themselves the same way they do the rest of us; paying the same high taxes it imposes on us, following the same laws, and putting their families in the same public health care system that they want us to live with now.

I support social and economic freedom! Keep up the good work. Also, I have a suggestion, you may want to talk about your platform regarding legalization of drugs, gay (well, human) rights and not legislating based upon religion. The LP is full of disillusioned Republicans, but you may want to bring in disillusioned Democrats as well.

Thanks for the friendship!

I became a Libertarian officially this year. I am a former Republican who got feed up with all the big government junk etc... coming from that party.

Join me and help spread the message of the Libertarian Party. I truly believe that many Americans are Libertarian. It's up to us to get our message out and direct them to us.
