Aria Hall of Fame 2008 Inductees. Video clips of the New Zealand/Australian Rock Band Dragon

Dragon is a popular New Zealand / Australian rock band, they were formed in Auckland New Zealand in 1973 and relocated to Sydney Australia in mid-1975. Dragon scored a string of major hits on the Australian pop charts with songs including "This Time", "Get That Jive" , "Sunshine", "April Sun in Cuba", "Are You Old Enough", "Rain" & "Cry".

The majority of those hits were with the classic line up of:-

Marc Hunter - Lead Vocals
Todd Hunter - Bass & Backing Vocals
Paul Hewson - Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Kerry Jacobson - Drums
Robert Taylor - Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals

The lineup changed mid 80's with Kerry Jacobson, Paul Hewson and Robert Taylor departing the band to be replaced by:-

Terry Chambers, then Doane Perry respectively replacing Kerry Jacobson on the Drum Kit. Alan Mansfield joins the band in 1983 on Keyboards. Don Miller-Robinson, Tommy Emmanuel, Pete Northcote and various other well known and respected session musicians replacing Robert Taylor on Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals.

Marc Hunter fronted the band until his death in 1998.

Reforming in 2006 the band line up now comprises of:-

Mark Williams - Lead Vocals,
Todd Hunter - Bass & Backing Vocals
Bruce Reid - Slide/Dobro/Steel/Electric & Acoustic Guitars & Backing Vocals
Pete Drummond - Drums & Backing Vocals.

RAIN, Dreams of Ordinary Men and Are you Old Enough are brilliant, am surprised this music is so hard to find, incredible how with the simple passing of time, such brilliant classics get forgotton. It just goes to show how meaningless our lives are when we are forgotton so quickly. As though we never existed at all .. sad :(

I would love to get some of your tracks without vocals that I could use, would you have any recorded that I could buy? or in midi format? I have been searching for a long time but cannot find. I am a solo sax player and call myself Saxalone, if you guys ever need sax yell out I love your stuff!!! I especially love the song, "Don't Go Out In The Pouring Rain". You guys are legends.
