Marigold’s in the Garden

My name is Julia, and this is the story of Gardening in Australia with my service/assistance dog, Marigold. It’s about our journey in the garden, to create or change some of the existing areas so that they will be more productive, accessible, and of course, beautiful. An important goal is to increase our privacy and to get back our once serene environment that we use to live in. It is a semi-rural, quarter acre property, that is set in a rainforest area of low mountains, hills and valleys, that are now sadly being developed into new housing estates. It is our goal and dream to create a garden full of plant diversity, that will attract native animals back to where they once lived. We can eat the food we grow, and relax in the private areas of our garden. 
It has been said by many medical professionals that gardening is therapeutic and a person’s overall physical, mental, spiritual and emotional health can be greatly improved by garden activities.
