	sunfirescout (23 hours ago) Is it not ironic that christians exercise free choice to believe in and defend a creed and value system that, in the presence of an all mighty authority that decides their fate, tells them they have no free choice... Sometimes I think it is all just a way to get around responsibility for desire, one our leading decision makers. If you believe something more powerful than you can change or even cancel out your choices you can shirk responsibility by saying it must have been god's will. From here the road forks and folks either hand all their decision making over to the church or they keep making their own choices and blaming bad outcomes on god.

Eternal damnation is a western christian concept. So this must be what you are referring to. Now.... let me point out that "PHILOSOPHICALLY" it is not possible to fake belief to an all knowing god and if one attempts to force them self to believe in god when the evidence is against this and they are away of this then they will not be truly believing and will be eligible for eternal damnation none the less. So to conclude... "believing" in god because of a larger consequence in the case of being wrong is a fruitless endeavor. Futher more... you are not clever. I would recommend you shut up so that people are none the wiser to that fact.

As I'm writing this, I am chuckling at the thought of Christians arguing astronomy above though...Whenever I get mormons or jahovah's witnesses trying to convert me I ask them, "My house sits on a concrete foundation, what does yours rest on?" They never get it....Sorry again for talking up so much space...

And unfortunately one who believes in god can follow a completely different path in life and still end up right next to you in the end at the same destination. And some would say that there must be others that take an alternate path to justify and define your own. One's and zero's, light and darkness, presence and absence, to be or not to be...do not loath your opposite, but understand that it is part of what defines you... Do not try to be better than the ones who believe in god , that is impossible, only try to understand that it is the two of you who define one, try only to balance their weight... Though balance their effect on time will be lost...
