I'm a middle-aged guy learning to ride horses and finding joy....and the occasional bruise. And sprain...and kick....and bite....and I had my toes stepped on once if you really must know.

My favorite sport is eventing. And I use YouTube to show off eventing since it has no regular TV coverage. I'll film upper level eventing in Area II when I have time, and jumper shows.

Eventing is wonderful to watch - and it rewards an active spectator. You can picnic or tailgate, walk the course (with your dog if you like), listen for the sound of approaching hoofbeats, and watch great horses and riders jump obstacles that would require a step ladder for most people, or a raft for that matter.

Watching the cross country phase in person is sort of like watching golf, but more exciting (unless you love golf), and the holes are replaced by obstacles. In fact you wouldn't want holes at all. And the 'greens' are pretty chewed up when it's over.
