Be The Generation was created by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to to maintain and establish relationships with communities most impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in order to promote awareness, understanding, dialogue, and support for biomedical prevention research, including HIV vaccine research, microbicide research, and pre-exposure prophylaxis research. The initiative is supported by the Division of AIDS (DAIDS), part of NIAID at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
