The spectacular archaeological finds include pattern welded swords and worked gold ornaments, coins and strong evidence of Saxon and Medieval industry reflecting the castle's status as a royal medieval castle and Anglo Saxon palace, the capital of Northumbria and the site that protected Lindisfarne as one of the most important early Christian centres in the celtic tradition.

We train students and provide practical experience in archaeological investigation, recording and excavation, and media - film making using HDV equipment, editing on Final Cut, and multimedia applications and archiving.
