About Me:

Ameyaw Kissi Debrah alias The Jade Renegade is a young freelance journalist/celebrity reporter/publicist based in Accra, Ghana. Currently, he is one of the most noticeable online journalists in Africa, with articles and videos on several local and international platforms. He is referred to some of his fans on various social networks as The King of New Media in Ghana. In 2008, he presented a paper at the Digital Citizens Indaba/Highway Africa in South Africa where he shared his views on the future of new media, specifically on using mobile phone technology to empower citizens.

Ameyaw holds a B.A Publishing Studies degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he was voted the Best Publishing Student in his year group (2005). He had his Senior High School education at Adisadel College, where he won a couple of awards including the Dyke Sharp Award for English. At Adisadel, he studied General Science because he aspired to become a medical doctor. There, he found a new passion for expressing himself when he joined the Writers and Debaters Club, and eventually became the Editor for the club. He later diverted from his science background to study Publishing at the university.

After university, he did his National Service at Ovation International (Ghana) Limited and stayed on after completing his service. At Ovation, he became the Research/Online-Editor. Ameyaw later created the critically acclaimed column, The Awful Truth with Ameyaw, for Star Newspaper, a weekly entertainment and lifestyle broadsheet published by African Communications Ltd. He won the hearts of many readers with his sharp and often very accurate critique of Ghanas emerging entertainment industry. The column can now be found on www.ghanaweb.com.

Ameyaw has successfully taken his works across the globe on the worldwide web through some on-line magazines such as, www.jamati.com, www.orijin-ent.com, www.modernghana.com, www.ghanaweb.com, www.newsafrican.com and www.ghanacelebrities.com . His Jaded Renegade blog is currently featured on www.globalpost.com. Also visit www.ameyawdebrah.com, www.ameyawdebrah.blogspot.com

Ameyaw is very versatile with his style of writing and his scope is wide and diverse, cutting across entertainment, politics, business and social issues. His current correspondence with the voices of Africa project under www.africanews.com has seen him tackle relevant topics on: access to clean drinking water; disposal of waste in Ghana; impact of pollution on the environment; Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP); road construction networks; China/India influence on Ghana, and many others. Ameyaw has also worked with Nike by providing content for www.nike5showdown.com during a youth football tournament held in Accra between January and February 2008. He also writes for Sparkx Magazine in Ghana.

Through his work, he has interviewed and met many international celebrities such Kofi Annan, President J.A Kufuor, Rev Jesse Jackson, President Obasanjo, John Legend, Damon Dash, Lloyd, Ozwald Boateng, Pearl Amoah, Jay Z, Akon, Ade Bantu, Dentaa, Kojo The Fresh Prince of Hackney and many others.

Thank you for the invitation and the posted videos bro. I plan upon watching all of them. I have been interested in Ghana for a long time. I was told that it is not going to well there right now, but this is a reality in most places this day. But, it is good as well as an advantage into the truth in knowing you. Thank you for your invitation once again and please stay in touch often.
God Bless You

nice videos man! i admit i dont know much about africa, so i try to watch things when i get the chance. there are some good nigerian movies on here for example i enjoyed "stronger than pain 2". im sure there are huge differences between ghana and nigeria but for now, im still learning, its all just african. my math professor in college was from ghana, dr. agbakpe, it was the only grade "A" i ever got in math, he was great! thanx for the vids :)

Madassi! (spelling?) I had an unbelievable, life-changing time in Ghana. We met the Chief Supreme Court Justice, went to the slave castle (Cape Coast), visited several villages, played soccer with the kids, went to their classrooms, shopped, and just enjoyed our time there. I will return over and over. Please stay in touch!
