The Unicist Research Institute (TURI) has been, since 1976, the pioneer in the research of complexity and became the world leader in its segment.  It introduced a paradigm shift in science by developing a scientific approach to adaptive environments which have open boundaries. The discovery that any entity in the real world, that is part of a system, is driven by a purpose, an active function, and an energy conservation function, gave birth to the functionalist approach to reality.  The functionalist approach to the real world, which included the development of functional knowledge and functional design, allows managing the social, institutional, personal, and business evolution.
