Simple spreadsheets are the most widely used databases in the world. While they lack most of the features associated with true database management systems, their flexibility and ease of use combine to lower the barriers to entry for potential users. This raises the question of whether the ease of use of simple spreadsheets could be combined with the power of more traditional databases.

Blist is a new web-based database that aims to do just that, while simultaneously leveraging the collaborative power of computing on the internet. The goal of this research is to develop Blist Mobile, which will take the project step further by bringing these features into the mobile realm. To achieve this goal multiple rounds of interviews and prototyping were conducted.   less
