Elephant Seals Homecoming Days are here! And we're at Año Nuevo State Reserve, waiting for Penelope, Cheddar, Annie, Mukurma, Clara, Isabel, Myoceen, Guadalupe, Coya and Flora. After these females hit the beach, they'll give birth to their pups. A few days later, the researchers will remove their satellite tags.
You can also follow the adventures of leatherback turtles, white sharks, salmon sharks, albatross, and 18 other species on TOPP. Their satellite tags send daily updates to their widgets and animated tracks. Researchers from around the Pacific Rim regularly travel to remote islands and far out in the Pacific on tagging expeditions to follow the mysterious migrations of these animals. Until the last couple of years, no one knew where these sharks, turtles, seabirds and seals swam or flew. Now you can watch them roam the largest body of water on the planet.
