Not so much Utopia Billy as just a science based social design, that is secular and humanitarian as compared with the current default template, which is contract society using money and a throwback to an antique age. Thanks for your recent interest and joining us in this longstanding project.

A very politically astute friend of mine disagreed with the idea of a Technocratic economy, but surely an economy based on energy rather than the every inflated 'value' of money is a good thing. I sort of discovered this movement while reading some Richard Heinberg material on M. King Hubbert. It just seems to me that while humans have access to petroleum and its high EROEI, we should utilise it for building some long-term energy infrastructure, so human knowledge doesn't go to waste, whether we have a major downscale towards the permaculture philosophy or a direct chnage to a renewable, efficient society - that is my opinion on the matter, but obviously this descision would be made by a panel of expert geologists and physicists.

I'm new to the technocracy concept but for what I've seen so far its very much in line with the Jacque Fresco's Venus Project, however people say there are some differences between the two concepts, I don't know if you are in touch with The Venus Project but perhaps you can explain some of this differences.
