Hi there,
I think this is a young Greater Spotted Woodpecker. They don't give you a great view of the back when on a peanut feeder, but you can tell from this position because the underparts are streaked on Lesser Spotteds. If you think you have another rare bird, please post a video!
Thanks, Owler

Hi there, I agree that this is a young Greater Spotted. You can tell in this position because the underparts are unstreaked. Great bird though, and if you see a Lesser Spotted at your feeders please post a video!

snr68te, I hope this is an injured bird if you are keeping it. I hope you have safely released it. Next time you find an injured bird, you should report it to a bird rescue center. Also, look up the 'bander's grip.' It hurts a little less.

kam75, are most of your redpolls commons? I think there might be a Hoary Redpoll at 0:38 as the undertail coverts are unstreaked. I have never seen redpolls so you probably know better, though. Nice video!

Pileated (not Ivory-billed) Woodpecker 2010 Beaufort SC. by Fred Heys
I've been watching this Pileated woodpecker for days outside my office and thought I would film it.

Yes, this is a Pileated. You can tell by the almost completely black back (you probably didn't see the bill too well). Ivory-bills have a big white stripe on the back.

This is actually a Red-bellied Woodpecker. Note the zebra-striped back and head stripe. The Red-headed name was reserved for another bird with a completely red head! This bird has a slightly rusty belly, hence the name.

About Owler's Bird Videos
Hi there and welcome to my channel! I hope to provide entertaining while informative videos of birds here. Enjoy!
Great video! However, I am a little concerned about feeding the waterfowl bread. It is not very nutritious for the birds and they often can't make it through the winter on that kind of sustenance. If possible, please feed the birds corn, peas or other alternatives. I don't mean to ruin the party,...
