Established by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche after his first trip to Tibet in 2001; Konchok Foundation is a charitable, educational and cultural non profit organization, with the objectives of providing aid and assistance to the peoples of Surmang Dutsi Til and Golok Regions of Tibet through the preservation and revitalization of indigenous Tibetan culture and religion, the advancement of education, and the improvement of socio-economic conditions.

We are currently rebuilding a shedra for the Surmang Dutsi Til monastery, (the original seat of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche) which will provide traditional Buddhist training and education for both monks and nuns, as well as a standard education for lay people of all ages.

We have begun to plan for working with the region of Golok to build a shedra for Wayen monastery as well.

It's beautiful to see what you're doing - helping to restore some of the tradition that was all but destroyed there. It's also good to see that the vision is to include women and laypeople along with monastics in the educational plans there too. Good luck.
