While I am illustrating the Democrats who were negligent and/or guilty -as well as the Republicans who were calling for more oversight, I am not, by any means, saying that the Republicans were totally innocent -or that the Democrats were 100% at fault.

Indeed, from 2000-2006, the Republicans held a majority in both Senate and House -and held the Whitehouse, thus the problems we see were partly their fault.

However, even with the threat of a veto, that threat is minor, and, now, from 2006-2008, with Democrats in charge of both House and Senate, the lack of oversight and tighter regulations by Democrats implicates them in guilt.

All parties are to blame.
