This is my first Showcase I have done for a while involving my trains and rolling stock since I worked as a Volunteer at Railworld. Well as some of you are probably aware. I am gradually expanding my N-gauge rolling stock and I am currently drawing up some plans to build a Japanese-style N gauge Layout. I have recently bought a Kato AVE 100 High Speed Train which is operated by RENFE and it sports the all-new "Operadora" livery. This is my second N gauge passenger train as the other one is a Tomix JR100 Sanyo/Tokaido Shinkansen that I bought a couple of years ago. Also in this video there is my SNCF BB9300 Electric Locomotive which was originally a Del Prado static display model but I have converted this model into a working locomotive by using a Tomytec TM-01 chassis which fits snugly into the body after cutting away one of the screw sockets inside the bodyshell and by trimming 0.5mm off one end of the plastic chassis. It might not be for the purist of modellers but it does the job fine for me. Though bear in mind that the maximum voltage for these Tomytec chassis is 9 volts. The other locomotives seen in this video are the EH500 (one of favourites) by Kato in JRF livery, Class 60 numbered 60052 in EWS livery by Bachmann/Graham Farish and the DF200 in JRF livery by Kato. Another locomotive that I have in my collection is a RENFE GM Class 319.4 which because of the 10 minute limit. I was unable to include that loco in this Showcase. But I am hoping to feature it into the next NVMRA N Gauge Layout Phase 2 video, but for now enjoy this video. I have used a desk lamp this time to try and show you my model trains in a better light because the lighting in the basement is very poor. But I have deliberately left if off in some parts of the video to show you the lights on these model trains in the dark and the Kato AVE 100 has spectacular and amazing lights.

Here is our group Layout in N gauge under constuction. This will eventually become a surbuban-area based layout which will feature a harbour for freight, a medium-sized town and a village. The track used on this Layout is by Fleischmann and the Rolling Stock seen in this video is a DSB Nohab GM Locomotive by Piko, DB Steam Locomotive by Minitrix and a Class 50 numbered 50024 in BR Large Logo Blue livery by Graham Farish. The Passenger cars are DSB Danish type coaches by Minitrix and the freight wagons are Graham Farish and Kato which are British and Japanese rolling stock. Though only British Rolling Stock will be used when we have completed the Layout. Video of Phase Two will follow this week after our meeting.

GREAT DIESEL SOUND! The Ludmilla Diesel Locomotive (aka classes 230, 231, 232, 234) of the (former) East German Railways was built by the diesel locomotive works "October Revolution" in Woroschilowgrad/Soviet Union (today: Luhansk) in the 1970´s and 80´s.

This Diesel Locomotive class has a 16-cylinder turbocharged 4-stroke diesel engine (the legendary 5D49!) with chargecooler and 3000 HP, 6 axles and is designed for heavy freight and passenger trains. This Russian Diesel Locomotive has been in service in many former Eastern European countries.

The Diesel Locomotive has a nice sound, especially in the test facility at the end of the clip.
