Established in 2001, The Shortie Awards: Student News and Film Festival recognizes original digital media productions created by student filmmakers, ages 7-18, and their teachers. The Shortie Awards focuses on nurturing imagination and choice making in students.

Categories include Live Action, Animation and Daily News Programs.  Age Categories are 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18.  We also feature a teacher category, for teachers of students in grades K-12. 

The deadline to enter the 2010 Shortie Awards: International Film & News Festival is now closed.  The entry deadline date for next year is April 1, 2011.
