One Breath —stories of hope, skill, and impact

Dr Jan and Dr Chase began volunteering in Africa over 12 years ago, co-founding an NGO to save mothers and babies through emergency obstetric training and essential resources. Their Hands-on Training (HOT) program empowers midwives to act confidently in real-life emergencies, transforming skills, beliefs, and care. Recognised for reducing maternal and neonatal deaths, their work now reaches Kenya and beyond, including microloans that empower women to build businesses, support families, and invest in their own health. From the first breath to brighter futures, this is a story of courage, hope, and women uplifting women—one life, one opportunity at a time.
