Diablo Symphony

The Diablo Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra based in Walnut Creek, California.  It celebrated its 50th anniversary season in 2012-13.  Comprised of professional and volunteer musicians, the orchestra is led by its dynamic Music Director Matilda Hofman.  The orchestra performs plays 5 concerts per season at the beautiful Lesher Center in Walnut Creek and its repertoire runs the gamut from classical to contemporary.  In addition to performing at the Lesher Center for the Arts, we also perform at Rossmoor and promote music in elementary and middle schools through our educational Outreach Program.  The orchestra also sponsors the annual Yen Liang Young Artist Competition and features the winner at a concert each year.  The DSO's success demonstrates that classical music is alive and well and reaching music lovers of all ages!
