Rathcroghan Visitor Centre

Rathcroghan Visitor Centre is located in the Medieval village of Tulsk, within the archaeological landscape of Rathcroghan / Cruachan Aí, the oldest and largest unexcavated Royal Site in Ireland. The Rathcroghan landscape has over 240 archaeological sites incorporating Stone Age tombs, royal burial mounds, great ringforts, ceremonial inauguration sites and massive linear earthworks. 
Rathcroghan is also the traditional home of the Iron Age Warrior Queen Medb of Connacht and by that reason the origin point of our National Epic Tale, An Táin Bó Cuailnge, (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), which features a host of legendary heroes, including Medb herself, the Battle Goddess Mórrígan, the Connacht Warrior Fráoch and the boy hero Cú Chulainn.
