This short piece was created for the upcoming FilmSnacks contest run by DiscoveryWorldHD.
It features a stand of ancient old growth trees dubbed as "Avatar Grove" in the Port Renfrew Region located at the southwest corner of Vancouver Island. These trees are over 500+ years old, some as old as 1000 with a circumference of 40+ feet.
These large spruce trees were found only a couple of years ago and are on land that is designated for clear cut. Ancient Forest Alliance as well as many people are trying to save this patch of land for people to enjoy for years to come.
This is our story.
