The FIRST Robotics Competition pairs teams of high schoolers with professionals who mentor them in the building of robots that compete to accomplish defined goals. FIRST was created to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Its mentoring programs build self-confidence, knowledge and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology and engineering.
